Re: Any good Info on Eastern Creek (Sydney)

Turn 1 - it's Very fast - do yourself a favour and do not drop below 150 - 160km/h.

turn 2 - double apex, this one can be a little tricky - but get it right, and it will make turn 3 nice and sweet - screw it up and you are in a world of wrong lines, and it will probably screw you up ftill turn 6.

Turn 8 - you cna accelerate up the hill, and don't really NEED to brake till after the overpass - but it still freaks me out not being able to see the rapidly approaching corner that is just beyond the crest - especially on a litre bike.

turn 9 - I love this turn, slow right hand hairpin, probably the slowest corner of the track, there is nothing like getting this one right - sets you up nice for the short straight.
Turn 10 - it's not really a turn so much as a slight change in direction. you can take it a lot fastre than you would think. Turn 11 and 12 is almost like one big 2 apex corner, and spits you out ont he main straight. Good corner speed hear will help you out when it comes to getting max speed form the straight. Back to turn one - you can easily go past the start finish line before backing off for turn one.

Probably the best tip is to get a map and get someone (one of the track day employees maybe) to draw you a line around the map. Also, watch the a grade riders, if you pop yourself on top the the pits, you can get a good view of the track, and with binoculars, shoul dbe able to see a lot of the turn in points they use.

Z...

Cheers for that..im looking at the map, and learning the course from the "movie" on EA's track day website..watching where he sits up and looking out for braking markers (but i guess theyve changed the markers with all the new paint for today's A1 car race.... Ive never done an Aussie track but put myself in the in the intermediate fast group....spose i can always go up or down a group if im quicker (or slower than i thought lol)... hoping to hook up with someone whos done the deed before..thats why i picked the Monday session rather than the Sunday one as i thought maybe that will be for the regulars, who want to miss the weekend runners...
