| Well It is Time my friends. Well Thought I would let you all know that I will be partaking in my first ever track day.
It will be March 25 at Arroyo Seco in Demming NM.
So far it will be Me and TwoZ's and another buddy from work and maybe (hopefully) ReaperAZ.
It should be a blast, I am nervous as can be expected, and i am not looking to go out and drag my knee on every turn. I just wanna go out and gain some experience, have fun, learn how to ride my bike better, have fun and become more confident on the 54 in the turns.
You know i dont remember my accident last may, but i am a little uneasy in the twisties sometimes. I have gone to the mountain a few times with ReaperAZ and I go at my own pace, but sometimes that equals REALLY SLOW
So I owe it to myself to go out there and let the bike show me what we can do together. Where it is safe, and there are not cars swinging wide into my lane, or driving with thier highbeams on trying to blind me in a sweeping decreasing radius left turn.
I am sure it is going to be fun and very addicting and I cant wait to be able to join in on the plentiful track conversations on here.
I will be lookin for track plastics here soon too i can already tell |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. Well it's about farking time. Ok j/k.
I'm so happy to hear this as I know you are a bit timid since your crash. It's great to go on rides with someone you know has a limit that they follow. Makes it so much easier to pull into the parking lot at the end of a run knowing that you may pull in last, but you still get there. As long as you go out with the intent to learn a few things and have fun, you will. As far as instruction goes, I'll be more then willing to help where I can. I know the guys out there are also willing to lend a hand when needed so no real need to worry about that. Now I have to buy another damn set of tires. Well maybe not, my Powers are only a few weeks old and only have about 300 street miles on them. |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. You are going to have the time of your life. Go at your own pace and remember that it's all about FUN! And you've got a fantastic bike that will help you feel very confident. I look forward to hearing about your success and know that you will be eager to do it again and again. |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. Try not to take what I'm saying the wrong way...but if your pace is slow, street tires might actually work better, even on track, for you. Espcially early in the season when temps are low.
Street tires heat up, and "feel right", much more quickly.
FWIW. |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. I put down a deposit on Saturday for a track school (my first track experience) for May 24th.
I was trying to buy some Racetecs but the instructor talked me out of it... He had 2 points:
1. I will have too much grip and won't learn anything
2. At my novice level, I will not perform any better (as far as lap times are concerned) than I would with street-based tires.
He recommends Diablo Corsas for a first-time track rider. I should still have enough life in my Pilot Powers for the May school, but for Grattan I plan to spoon on some fresh Corsas.

Diablo Corsas are an outstanding street/trackday tire. You can't go wrong with those. |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. Pretty much been stated already. Run your own runs, don't get mixed up in another person's race. Start slow and just enjoy it all.
Goal: you and the bike leave the same way you got there. |

| Re: Well It is Time my friends. sweet.
as far as riding a little more timid than before just try to push the crash out of your mind. When I got on my friends bike the other day it was the first time I had been on a bike since I crashed mine last November. I was actually a little surprised I wasn't even a tiny bit nervous.
The more you ride the more you'll just forget about it.

Ride your own ride - you have to build on experience. |
