| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [long read] That's the '03/'04 model, too. You can try an '05 in a week or so if you're so inclined.
I'd like to do the Freddie school this summer when he does it at Miller, but we'll see.
Dale is a great guy, know him from way back in the USBA. Haney is a great guy and very fast as well.
I'll do his school one day, but for now I'm getting very antsy to just get out there and play. |

| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [long read] It'll be good to have a real world write-up of the school. You read some in mags that journos write and while good, you just don't get the same details. Awesome write-up so far. Can't wait to read more.
Oh yeah.........I'm jealous. |

| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [UPDATED] yeah, just a fantastic read! I looked up on their site; did you already do the 2 day school with them? It looks like that is a prerequisite to the 3 day school? |

They still have some three day level one dates available at the new track in Utah this year: https://www.fastfreddie.com/registra...nUpMiller.php3 |

They said they'll be sending them to us soon. There was also a pro photographer there today (the same guy that took my avatar shot last month in Pahrump), and I hope I can get some shots from him to share. He was working for the journalist from Sweden, so I'm not sure yet if I can get some from him or not. |

| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [UPDATED] Terrific write-up, 'Whip. Better than a lot of magazine work, and, of course, you don't have to fit it into 1200 words.
Can you give us a little more detail regarding how the front brake helps you turn? Is it because it compresses the forks and decreases trail, making it turn quicker?
What if you're inside your preferred line?
I'm enjoying your trip! |

| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [UPDATED] bwhip, thanks for the great write-ups. I think I now might consider spending the extra money to do this after I graduate. You make it sound well worth the cost. Looking forward to seeing the video that you get from the school. |

I'm enjoying your trip! | Thanks very much - so glad you're enjoying it.
The front brake (under trail braking) really helps set the turn up, through speed control, and as you suggested, a decrease in trail. If you're under acceleration, the geometry of your bike changes, causing you to run wide. By gentle application of the front brake, along with proper weighting of pegs, head position, etc., the bike just falls right into the line you want. If you're inside the preferred line, that would be a time to shift your weight to the inside, standing the bike up, while applying some gentle throttle. |

| Re: Join Me At Freddie Spencer School [UPDATED] Quote: Several times coming down the long straight into turn one, Jeff backs it in like no one I have ever seen. It is mind-blowing, hearing the rear tire squeal and watching him pitch it sideways for literally hundreds of feet, before perfectly NAILING turn one. We’ve all seen the pro racers do some of this on TV, but seeing him do it that well, and hearing it, is incredible. Just absolute control over the bike. And he does it again and again. Very cool. |
