| First Track Day Revisited (new Pics and Links) Ok well I did it and let me tell you it was a blast. I had so much fun out there and learned so much.
Things started out slow, I was getting a feel for the track and following people to learn the lines. After that i was on my own and feeling really good about things. I was more confident with the bike in the corners and by the middle of the day I was draggin knee here and there. I was really cool to learn how much i could throw that bike around and how much i could use the front brake.
I think i accomplished all my goals out there except one: Me and the bike coming back in the same condition as when we left... Yes thats right friends I ate **** The bike is not as pretty as it once was. I was coming Into the S turns before the large Straight and after a right i went into the left and i was over pretty far and the there was nothin and I watched the bike slide away from me. once it hit the dirt it fliped and landed on the windscreen But it actually does not have alot of damage... I need the Upper Fairing Stay, and some plastics and the Stator cover is Scratched pretty bad(thank god it did not break open) And the tank has some scratches and a dent. That is about it.
Here are a few pics, more to come When I get all the Cameras together and get all the pictures

| Re: First Track Day Revisited It does not sound real bad but have the bike checked, it does not take much to throw some parts out of whack if the bike went airborn.
Track wear does it's job again. |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited Sorry to hear about the get off but, welcome to the world of track addiction. Almost as bad as crack, okay, this is legal, but that is where the differences end.
Post up what ya need and see who has what. Probably get most of it off ebay or right here on the org.
Good to hear that you are okay and in good spirits. |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited Yea despite the lowside it was great! I would do it all over again
I am so addicted... I will get the bike fixed and then get race plastics and then keep doing it.
You really cant beat 75.00 dollars a day! And it is only like 3 hours away.
All the advice that was given to me on here was running through my head the whole day And let me tell ya, this get off hurt a lot less then the last one!
I cannot wait to do it all over again... and this time i am going to do no brake drills, and then practice my lines more. It was such a liberating experiance!!!
Thanks everyone for all the advice and encouragement! |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited Glad you made it through relatively unscathed, and with your passion for it intact! I'm sure they'll just keep getting better and better for you. Get that bike fixed and get back out there! |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited Oh yea the passion for it is very much there! I had a lot of good dudes in my corner with a lot of experience so it was cool that they would "slow down" for me and show me the ropes for a bit.
ReaperAZ is damn fast on the 600RR he must have lapped me like 4300 times once i was on my own!
I will post some more pictures up of the 954 after the get off and the temp fix job that got me back on the track here in a while.
I cant belive i have not been riding the track before now... Why did i wait so long |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited Poor SPY. You never want to see a friend crash, and really don't want it to happen on their first trackday. Sorry buddy .
Steph, SPY's wife, and myself drove out later then the rest of the crew since Steph didn't get off work until 6:30am that morning and we didn't get on the road until 7:30. SPY, Scott, and TwoZ's left much earlier then that. It was nice though cause when we arrived my bike and gear were already unloaded, need to do it this way more often . The weather was supposed to get into the mid 70's so I expected it to be a great day. We got there a bit before the half hour lunch break so it gave me time to eat before I rode, which I needed badly. I've been fighting with a sinus thing for the past week or so and hoped it wouldn't interfere with my riding. I suited up and Roger tech'd my bike, which if some hadn't noticed from the pic I got another upper for it. Looks much better in red if I do say so myself . So I'm ready to go and start to get on the track.
We were running the track CCW this day. Never really was big fan of CCW as it's a lot of lefts, I suck at lefts. I was excited to be back on the track but not so excited about CCW. Took me afew laps to remember the flow of the track going this direction. I rode behind SPY for a bit and noticed he was doing quite well. TwoZ's was working with him and giving advice and pointers. Since the track wasn't too busy Roger had open session all day. Which was super nice cause you could ride as long as you wanted an take breaks whenever. We came into the pits and the smile on SPY's face was priceless. Looked to be having a blast. I remember the feeling I had during my first trackday. I think I smiled the entire day. I took the 954 for a few laps as well. Nothing against the bike, but I'll stick with my 600RR. I never rod emy 954 on the track and it was way different them my 600RR. Kind of fun sliding the tire coming out of almost every turn, but at the same time a bit nerve racking. I never really intentionally tried to do it, but it just happened. For me something clicked on this day. I don't know what it was or where it came from but I ran fast all day. Faster then I have in the past that's for sure. I found a new me out there this weekend.
I was catching up to SPY and was coming out of the Yucca turn and could see him going into the bus stop. I was only about a second or so behind so I put my head down and braked late going into the bus stop to try and catch him before the esses. As he exited the bustop and began his turn into the esses I had closed the gap to about 20 feet. He tipped in, rolled on the gas, and WHAM....on his ass sliding. I was like WTF mate! I didn't see what happened to the bike because as soon as it went off the track it was swallowed but a huge cloud of dust. I watched SPY get to his feet and get off the track, so I knew he was ok. Steph and Sunny had begun to walk into the infield to take some pics and I had to do another lap to go back around and let them know SPY had gone down . I was just glad he was ok and not injured. The bike isn't really too bad. They duct taped her up and added a few zip ties and he was back on the track. So to SPY for getting back on it after he crashed.
EDIT: Almost forgot to add, nice job with the mad photoshop skills there chief. Looks like a three year got a hold of a Crayola for the captions in the shot of you and I. |

Just kidding. Glad you were able to finish out the day after the low side.
Cool pictures.
So Reaper, Spy had your bike and gear unloaded and waiting for you? Did you have him load everything back up after the track day?
Good to see you weren't seriously hurt SPY, that would have sucked. |

Good to see you weren't seriously hurt SPY, that would have sucked. | Had to do the bad ass pose... . Yep, when I got to the track my bike was sitting on the rear stand ready to rock. The only reason was because we had to leave later then they did. I loaded it up at the end of the day. |

| Re: First Track Day Revisited (new Pics) you had fun and didn't get hurt, that's whats important. The bike doesn't look bad at all. the lower plastic doesn't looked scratched at all.
