How many of you?

Wear your back protector when at the track? I always wear mine but I know and see lots of guys who never use them. I'm just curious to see what it's like on here. I feel like if I don't wear mine that it's my luck I will have a big crash, but I hate it.

It's been required at any event I've attended I even wear mine on the street. Don't feel right without it.

Always.

Never ridden on the track without one, and it doesn't bother me at all.

At the track It saved my back, you don't have to tell me to put it on.

On the street I did not wear it, but no street this year for me.

Wear the turtle shell 100% of the time on the track. If I can thin down I will even put the double density foam Joe Rocket one in also.

At the track, its required and checked on the grid. On the street, my jacket has one built in. Once you wear them you dont notice them.

Always. Street, too, as I got the optional one for the 'stich. It's not real substantial, so I'm going to start wearing the regular one on the street, too.
Phobe, get yourself one before Grattan!

Always. Mine saved my back when I was highsided (more like launched) through the air and landed flat on my back. Leathers still show the skid marks...

Re: How many of you?

I had never worn one before Grattan last year and it definitely felt a little awkward but that was mostly while walking around. Once I got out on the track I never really noticed it.... had I not been wearing it I would have definitely noticed it when I had my off. I would/will definitely always wear one on the track.

Same for me. After my back protector "broke in", I didn't really feel it. In fact, I pulled off the track at a trackday once because I thought I'd forgotten to put it on, though I had.

Didn't save my back, but I don't think anything would have.

Re: How many of you?

When I bought my 1 piece it was snug without a back protector in there. The first time I tried it was way wierd. Since then I have lost my fat boy belly and man did that help. Don't even notice it being there anymore and won't ever ride the track without it.

I own two. Once I went out without one (by mistake). On the first lap I could feel the cool ventilation on my sweaty back and realized I'd forgot to strap it on. Needless to say my pace was intentionally slower because I felt vulnerable.
