Tire Pressure

I just bought a set of Dunlop Qualifiers for this weekends trackday. As it is a softer compound than the D208, does anyone know what tire pressure is recommended from track use? I used 30 front and 30 rear on the 208s.

Re: Tire Pressure

One of the simular-threads links at the bottom suggests to go here first: Tire Pressures

You should be good starting with where you were (30psi) and adjusting as noted in the links.

Have fun and let us know how you like the tires.

Re: Tire Pressure

Call the Dunlop rep that sells at racing events at that track and ask him.

Re: Tire Pressure

Are you going to Putnam?

I contacted them about the price, I won't pay $180 for putnam.

Good luck.

Re: Tire Pressure

Or you could get a suggested starting pressure from the Dunlop race guy and follow the 20% growth rule.

But only if you actually wanted to do it right.

I guess it's just so much easier to post a question on the internet and get a thousand different answers based on somewhat suspect evaluations . . .

I always run 21 pounds front and 64 pounds in the rear on 40 degree days when I am running Michelin Super Pilot Slicks on a dry track . . . It's da bomb

I don't know if the track Dunlop guy would really know as the "Qualifier" isn't really a race tire, but rather a street tire. I know the local Dulop trailer isn't selling the Qualifier at the track.

Yeah, I'm going to Putnam. I am going for both days ($285). I wouldn't pay 180 for one day either.
