Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. Was at Willow Springs on Aug 31st. Was a blast. A bit warm but not bad. Any day at willow where the wind isn't blowing at least 20mph is a good day. Ran the Diablo Corsas for the first time and have to say they handled very well. I had supercorsas (which I liked ALOT) on before these. The SCs are defintely stickier than the Diablo Corsas but I'll probably stay with the Diablo Corsas for right now as the bang for the buck seems to be pretty high. I had one pretty hairy moment in 4 though...as I was getting on the gas in 4 near the end of the session the rear spun up big time and slid out, I came up out of the seat a bit but managed to stay on the throttle and it came back....We'll see how the DCs like Streets of Willow on the 17th.. Here's a couple pics from the day.

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. I got a lot of track time. *I believe I improved on my lap times later in the day, but their beacon was not working after 11am so I don't know what my times were. *I didn't come from under the e-z up to do any socializing it was too hot. *I did try to get some of you guys attition when you were in the hot pit but you had your race face on then. *The best part of the day was realing in my buddy on his Gixxer 1000 & showing him a wheel in turn 5 * *and passing all the other big bikes from turn 1 till turn 6 just to get passed down the back straight. *Dustin also let the last sesion open for all classes I was able to catch a RC 51 in turn 8

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. The beacon thing pissed me off, it worked the first session only, and when I asked Dustin about it, all he said was, 'Are you having fun?' Sure, I bought the damn timer to stare at the blank screen, but I'm having fun. What the hell was up with all the damn people passing on yellows, they seriously need to enforce their rules better at their events, I was close to walking over and giving a few people a piece of my mind, especially after passing them on the outside then hearing them gloat like they were hot when passing on a yellow, great time otherwise though, first time I ever pinned the RC in 6th, what a rush going into #8 full tilt

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. Street group, I was in Sport until it filled up completely, I figured the sport group would be a crash-fest so I swapped.

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. Yep there was some * going on in the race group too. *Passing on the yellow you think they would know better. *I watched some wild stuff going on in the street group too. *I saw too riders turn there bike around in T1 and ride back to the hot pit during a live sesion * * Matt you had the serious race face going on, only reason I knew it was you is the military sticker on your frame. There were some nice RC 51 out there I liked the one with the power coated red wheels.

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. That crash in the second race session was pretty bad, do you know if those guys are ok, I saw the aftermath of one bike, the front end was destroyed. I'm gonna give the race group a shot next time and see how bad I get my handed to me. I guess the military sticker gives me away pretty good, I'll tell people to look for that next time

I don't know how the rider are, but that gixxer's front end was torn off I didn't see what the other bike looked like Why would you take each other out on a track day. There was a big difference in speed in the sport group some where getting on the gas, and tucked in all the way down the 1/2 straight, and some where sitting up like there on a Sunday ride in the cannons. The race group was so small like 12 riders it felt like I had the track all to myself for a few laps. The other riders were also giving a lot of room when passing. I only got passed on the straights any way.

Re: Willow Springs recap and a couple pics. There was a very big difference in speeds in the sport group. We were thinking of going up to the race group but decided to just hang in the sport as it didn't become a crash fest....had fun practicing safe passes..
