Help on buying a bike

Ok I wont try to sound to much like a newbie but I am. Ive been doing track days and im so hooked on it its all I want to do. Im looking for a track only bike to mayby do some racing with also in the future. If brand of bike isnt a issue are there any recomendations or a bike that everyone agrees is a great first bike. Im not looking at Ducati-Aprilla-Agusto as just to much. Im leaning towards GSXR750--RC51--CBR929/954 but again im open minded about anything. Im not against 600 either I just feel like a gorilla on one but I know a 750 is the same chassis. Thanks for any ideas.

Ive been doing track days and im hooked. Im looking for a track bike and was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for a good first bike. Not looking at Ducati,Aprilla just to much money. I know there are tons of opions out there but I just dont want to make a mistake and get something that I thought would be good to only find out there is something much better for the same price. Dont laugh but im on a Busa now so anything has to be better then that right haha. Thanks 4 any help.

Re: Help picking a bike

I'd vote for a 600 for trackdays, too. If you are looking to race, though, I'd get an SV650. The 600 race classes can be brutal. Lots of bikes, people being stupid, from what I've heard, anyway.

Re: Help picking a bike

I was in the same boat you're in this past February. I thought I was a fast rider, and I was going to run my 954 on the track, and I'm glad I didn't. More power=more trouble=more pain. I dont know how big you are, but a 600cc bike is all you'll need for a couple of years. Learn the tracks, get all of the proper techniques down, etc.. I have a cbr600rr and I think it's great track bike.
