So I went to an open track day at the end of may/beginning of june. I ended up lowsiding going 90 in turn 1, a big right hand sweeper. You can see the track layout at

I'm still trying to figure out what happened. There were a lot of factors that went into it: not enough sleep the night before, too much caffeine in the morning, a fight with the girlfriend, a shity inside line for a shity inside pass into the sweeper. But here's the real question I wanted to pose to you guys:
A seemingly experienced rider claims that my wreck was due to overheated tires. He claimed that a big factor in street/track hybrid tires overheating is due to running them underpressured on a hot day (temps were near 100F). They commonly give advice at that track to run 28/29 front/rear. So I did. Gradually as the day wore on I was getting more and more slip, front and back. Eventually I noticed a blueish sheen on the edges of my tires. Shortly thereafter, I was tucked over in turn 1, not doing ANYTHING with the throttle or brakes, and both tires just cleanly let go and sent me sliding.
Was the bluish sheen the petroleum in my tires coming up to the surface and greasing them?
Anyhow, despite the wreck I set record lap times for myself and really started to feel a rhythm for the track (this was my 2nd track day). I'm going back soon, with more sleep and slightly less speed, and maybe a pyrometer.
Here is a pic of me on the 929
