| First Track Day Well just got back last night from my first track day. All I can say is OH MY GOD. That was the most fun I think I ever had on my bike and makes me wonder why it has taking me 4 years to go. My buddy and I rode in the Team Promotion's Art Basic class @ Pocono on the FUSA course yesterday.
My first session out after the morning class time was a bit scary BC you were out there with the rest of there white group. After a few laps I started feeling a little better. The instructors were pointing out all the different cones to us and letting us get use to the track. After the session we went right back into class talked about things and the instructors were like OK we are going to work on this and that but we will take the pace up a little if you fell comfy.
Second session felt much better with a little more speed. Granted at this point I was still so excited about being out on the track that we could have been doing 10mph and it felt like 110mph. The rest of our class session talked about body position and just trying to be smooth.
After lunch they pretty much let us out with the rest of the white group to ride at our own pace. Well this is when I started to connect the dots between body position and right lines through the conner's. Again I never had this much fun before on my bike. By my last couple of sessions out there I felt great and got to pass a couple of guys that scared me earlier in the day that seems to be flying around the track.
It sucks that the day had to come to an end but I can not wait to go back. Well we thought about staying over last night and trying to ride todays track day but my buddy had to work a double.
After my day yesterday I can see how some of you guys spend all this money on track bikes and what not for them. I think I will be looking for a track toy as soon as money allows me to. |

| Re: First Track Day Here's the plan take the wife with you show her how much better and safer this is and promise to never ride on the street again-then my best guess is you'll have full support.

| Re: First Track Day As a representative from the medical professions, it is my obligation to tell you that there is no cure for the disease to which you have been exposed. Like a junkie, another trackday is just a 'fix' to get you through withdrawal until the next trackday, not a cure.
I agree with the advice to take your wife. Early exposure to this activity will either quickly disinfect your virus, or will at least assimilate your spousal unit into the fold. Odds favor the latter.
Sooooo.....let's see here....sounds like a toy hauler, a trailer, a dedicated track bike, spares of everything including safety gear, extra gas containers, and maybe a bike for your wife are in your future! My best advice?...
Start conditioning your ego now for when she turns faster lap times than you!
Glad you guys had fun! Keep it safe. |

| Re: First Track Day When I told my wife I was booking yesterdays track day I asked her right away if she wanted to go with me. Well she said no BC she did not want to just sit there and do nothing all day while I am on the track. So about 2 weeks ago she tells me she wants to go BC she feels it will be fun to get pictures of me and my buddy riding. My wife is really into taking pictures and I had bought her a new lens for her camera so she wanted to try it out. The first part of the day she went with my Buddy's GF to the outlets and did some shopping. They got back during lunch break and she was all set to take pictures.
As far as the track bike goes I am not going to be able to afford a set track bike right now but I am going to be looking for something newer then my 01 F4i I currently have. I would like to get a newer 600rr and put the money I need to into my suspension now into the new bike. I went by Freehold Honda before to look at a few bikes and they had a used 06 600rr with 1,000 miles on it for $7900. A little to high for me right now with the new house but I will keep an eye out for one.
I have been looking for a trailer also but have not found one. I had borrowed my buddy's spare landscaping trailer but that thing was way to bike for the 2 bikes. The trailer was a 16 foot open trailer and it looked stupid with 2 bikes on it. First I need a new bike and then a trailer BC for now it can go in the bed of my F150. |

How's TGZ13 doing anyway? | So much fun that I cant stop talking about it. I think I am pissing the wife off bc she is sick of hearing about it.
The FUSA course was cool but I had such a hard time in a real tight right hand 180 turn after the back straigh away. Then there was a crazy little bump coming out of the turn leading onto the front straight away.
Tom's doign good. He had said something to me that he might buy another bike after the wedding for the track. He said that to me but when we were out with his fiance, me my wife and a couple others we brought it up and he was like no I will not get another bike. I think she will keep him from ever getting another bike. Whats the shame is his RC is still just sitting there. I was thinking about making him a offer for it and fix it and then sell it off as a track bike.

| Re: First Track Day Glad Tom's doing well. Too bad it sounds like she won't let him ride if he decides he wants to again.
The Pocono courses suck compared to just about every other place I've been, but they're close. Summit Point Main is nice, but the Jefferson course sucks. I really like BeaveRun. Then there's Grattan. Save your pennies and go there next June with fireblades.org! |

I rode a RC51 today and couldn't wait to get back on my f4i. once we got into some canyons my friend on the RC was having to go all out in the straights to keep me in sight. I never went past 75 80 i just didn't use the breaks before i hit the corners . |

I see people with 24' footers hauling only one bike ( abtech)...
