Barber's, Aug.19

First time on a track and what a blast. The folks at NESBA did a great job of making me feel welcome and helping me get my bike ready to ride. They seemed a little surprised that anyone would want to put a lowered and stretched CBR on the track. We finally got things worked out so that it wasn't as dangerous as when I arrived. Thanks to all for the help.

I bet you did get some "looks"

Congrats and raise that bike up and ride it like it was supposed to be ridden.

Didn't turn out to be a problem at the speeds I was traveling . I also noticed I was the only one with a license plate on his bike. Surely I am not the only one to put their street bike on the track? Can a license plate slow you down that much?

I remove my plate and lights rather than just taping over them.

TAKE THAT OFF! Seriously it is a danger if it comes off and they should have made you remove it. For a couple of easy bolts you can lessen the danger to others As it could become a ninja death plate if spun the wrong way

Sounds like you had a blast and are considering more though Did you learn a lot? I think I have in my track time.

Yeah, I learned that it takes a lot to get my ass off of the seat. Once I got that straight it got better.
The license plate is so far up under the bike that I didn't even consider it to be a problem. It is almost out of sight, but you are correct and I will not make that mistake again. When I get back on HD again I will think about making the CBR into a track bike only (got to have some way to spend my money besides diving and golf). Maybe I can get my wife to get a second job.
