Re: Barber November 11-12

I'm pretty sure I have the problems on my SV sorted out, but I have to wait till it stops raining to test it. I was going to load it in the van and terrorize the industrial park where my shop is this afternoon, but that might not be a good idea with slicks.

I made a small aux gas tank and made sure the vacuum slides in the carbs were both working. I have an extra diaphragm just in case. I also now have full electrical spares including a CDI, R/R, Coils, plugs, starter relay, solenoid, etc. Ebay and bidnapper are my friends...

I think the problem was the front spark plug connector and/or the coil wire. It was pretty corroded, and as it got hotter I guess the resistance increased - the first generation SV's were notorious for being vulnerable to losing that cylinder in the rain. Bad design. More reason to wait for "good" weather.

Re: Barber November 11-12

It stopped raining.
I took it to the "Oxford Commerce Park Raceway"
Did about 20 laps, got it all hot and bothered...
And it worked very, very well!!

Alabama, here I come!

Re: Barber November 11-12

For those attending Barber if you desire I can pick you up a 18th Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue sweatshirt. I think they are about $25. Now a word of warning for yankees and westerners these are southern sweatshirts so a bit thin by northern standards. Also according to the western contingent they run a bit big (though I don't think so). Let me know as it is next weekend.

Re: Barber November 11-12

I know they're called wife beaters but we used to also call them Southern Sweatshirts while I was in flight school. They're usually covered in sweat stains and you'd see more of them when the weather was cooler than when it was actually hot.

So, you'll be everyone's umbrella boy?

There's room in my SUV... Are you bringing your better half?
