Keigwin's 2-day Novice School at Thunderhill, Sept 18th and 19th
It is a very well organized school. Two groups of 35 students and I think about 20 instructors. On each 45 minute session, one group would be on the track while the other is in the classroom. We could also sign up for a 45 minute one-on-one session with an instructor of our choice on each of the two days.
One of the highlights was the track walk and demo at the end of day one. We all made our way to various places on the track in people's trucks. (I got to drive my new truck on the track). We visited turns 1, 3 (the Cyclone) and 9. It was very interesting to see the track close up and standing still. Lance gave a briefing and the instructors stood in various spots to point out the ideal line, and some places where not to be. Then we all stood safely off the track while about 6 of the instructors did high speed demonstration laps.
After that we were all treated to beer and pizza and a re-run of the Phillip Island MotoGP.
The catering was excellent, breakfast and coffee in the morning, hot lunch and free water all day. It was all very good value for money ($560).
I was the slowest item on the track

but by lunch time of the second day had become quite comfortable and smooth. I'm now looking forward to my first track day with Keigwin's on Oct 31st.
