| How to put an event on? I have looked at Talledega to do a private event and am wondering a few things: Option #2 lists a cost of $2350 for Sat or Sun
4 corner workers required
1 ambulance required (I would not even consider it without one)
Additional Liability Insurance required.
I was wondering how much extra the ambulance and insurance is and where someone would find it? Any way to learn about putting an event on? Seems like something that could be a ton of fun with massive open track (3 groups of 7,7,6) Thanks for any info and help. |

| Re: How to put an event on? Sheep, you should speak to the track and get their underwriter's information as well as who they use for paramedic/first responder duties. I seriously doubt you'll be able to beat their price since they have all of the history and background together from prior events. |

| Re: How to put an event on? just get the all inclusive price from the track and pay that. You need 2 ambulances, pay the extra and get 2. You can't run while the single ambulance is carrying the squid to the ER. You'd have to wait until they return. See if they will give you a heavily discounted price for monday if you do sunday, or friday if you do saturday.
A few things I learned in 2003...
Don't run 3 groups that small. Run 2 groups and still run them on 20 minute sessions. With 7 people, most guys will be running around looking for someone to ride with, it's cool at first, but after a while it starts to suck. Probably by late in the day, you can just run an 'open track' and let anyone ride at anytime (just cover it in the rider's meeting so the fast guys dont' run over slower riders)... |

For a few hundred more you can get more people on but you need more staff etc.
Thanks Abtech. Any idea on a swag for price that it would add? I have considered this but would want to get a plan semi in place before I found partners in crime
Phobiaphobe you would be 100% welcome if I did this but to come all that way you need to ride Barber instead. Little Talladega is a fun and inexpensive track but nothing to come down from Canada to
Is there any AMA or other org school on doing this? Kind of an apprentice type thing. I know my brother went to an AMA class on rallies and he found it very informative. |

| Re: How to put an event on? Hey Sheep I have a friend that rents Kart tracks for Supermoto all the time. The insurance he uses is only like $8 per person with a $100 minimum(covers like the first 12 riders) there was a first time use fee of $50 which covers the paper work they send you. I think its like 1 million of liablity insurance.
I'm not sure of the ins. company he uses but wanted you to have a ball park figure. I will try to get ahold of him and get the company name. |

The first lawsuit you'll get will be for at least 5 mil, believe me . . . |
