| new track day pics...try to improve my riding did a td last week, actually I tried a new style of pivot steering putting the forearm in a higher position than usual (not touching on the tank). Was too much anyway but its good to see your mistakes. Didnt push for laptimes, just working in body position

My only concern would be, in the last pic, looks like your puck is too high on your knee. Could be the angle though. |

| Re: new track day pics...try to improve my riding Overall, I'd say you look pretty good. I'd suggest a more relaxed position through the shoulders and arms - you look a little tensed up there, where you should be very relaxed so that bumps from the front end don't transfer through the whole bike through your own rigidity. Always more butt off the seat than you think, and head down to the side of the windscreen through the turn (especially at the exit), rather than right over the tank/windscreen.
Looks like fun! Nice bike! |

| Re: new track day pics...try to improve my riding Looks pretty good. On pic two, I would have my foot on the pegs more towards the toes, but that's just my style I guess. |

hey bwhip
you are right about the more relaxed position, maybe I tried this riding style to fit my 1,90m ass in a tiny bike, but it didnt work. Vibrations will be minimized by pressing the inside forearm to the tank, and I have tried this way too. About the head issue, I do suggest a higher position (like in the photos) than a "down to the side" because I have a better heading and peripheral vision, but this is personal you know
cheers everybody

| Re: new track day pics...try to improve my riding I see you are a tall guy, so these suggestions are more tailored for you.
1) Tuck in your upper elbow and get it to rest on the tank. Relax the upper body more.
2) You are a tall guy. Unlike us shorter guys, you need to tuck your knee in closer to the bike. Don't reach out so far with it. With legs as long as yours, I think you'd be better off learning to bring your knee up closer to the bike. Then you won't be reinforcing the illusion that you are using up all your available lean angle. Putting your knee out that far will become a mentally limiting factor long before you have explored the limits of the bike.
Basically, your form looks good. The weight is where it's supposed to be. Now you can fine tune it to get rid of the extra things, and you'll be rockin'. |
