| First track day Yesterday was my first time ever on a track. All I can say is that I'm hooked now. I had to take a ART class in the morning and that defintally helped me out with my techinique. But by the afternoon I was hitting 150 on the straightaway. This was at Summit Point in WV by the way. Hopefully next time I'll be bumbed up to the intermediate class. |

| Re: First track day Welcome to the addiction as is commonly heard around here. Reflecting back myself here is my 2 cents. I have only done 2 track days (both the Fireblades at Grattan) and now my riding habits have completely changed. I actually don't ride on the street much anymore and when I do it's much more controlled. I also remember being "wowed" with the straight line speed during the first session of my first track day but quickly learned that in a 1:45 second lap only about 12-15 seconds were actually spent on that straight. Being smooth and quick through the twisty technical sections is the best way to improve times on the track. Last year I even taped over the speedo to avoid any temptation to sneak a peek. Don't get me wrong... it is a blast to romp down a straight with your hair on fire. You should definitely try to make the Fireblades event. |

| Re: First track day Summit, the main course? Guess so, since it'd be hard to hit 150 on the Jefferson Circuit . I really like Summit Main, I haven't been there in a couple of years. Gotta get back there.
Glad you enjoyed yourself! |

I hate those blind corners going over the hills!" |
