| Re: service before or after a track day.. Before. If you are putting a heavy load on the engine why do it on the worst oil?

| Re: service before or after a track day.. I always service before i hit the track. Also go through every bolt to make sure you won't have any surprises.
Have fun. |

| Re: service before or after a track day.. Check your torques and tightness on your bolts, change the oil if ya got more than 3k on it.
OH, NEVER, EVER wash your bike before a track day. The track GODS love freshly cleaned bikes. Get at least one ride on the street prior to loading up for the track. |

If you are talking the major service, be sure to do that before. Make sure everything is tight and the bike is ready to go to the limit. Afterwards, it should just be a check of everything and oil (can probably get by with just the oil and keep the filter, but depends on your riding conditions).
Make sure you are safe and that everything is right going into the track day and you will greatly appreciate it on the track. An under prepared bike kind of ruins the day. |

-jh | Then run it up and down the drive once to make sure everything is turning and shifting properly. Much better to find a misrouted cable or something before you are at the track. |

| Re: service before or after a track day.. If you haven't been to the track before, you'll be amazed at how much time is spent at or near the limiter once you get your feet wet. I recommend you take care of any recommended service before you go, as weak oil can easily cost you a rod bearing under track conditions. |
