SoCal Track day 11-12-06

Hey everyone, I just got home from doing my track day in Pahrump with SoCal Trackdays. Overall It was a great day and the weather ended up being perfect for November. This was my first time riding the 2.2 mile course and my first time rideing with SoCal Trackdays. There was a ton of people there but with their NO SESSION format everthing went very smoothly. As far as myself, I feel that I did fairly well being that this was my first time at that course and due to all the mods I did before today. I was using a new size of tire, 190-55-17 Mich Power Race (medium) and a PR-1 for the front and man those tires were great once they hit the right temp. I also had a new 1/6 turn thorttle, HRC hard bite pads, droped another 11lbs due to misc stuff and carbon body work, had a new Scotts damper, and had the Power Commander completely re-maped by NRP. Pretty much the bike felt like never before so it took some time to get use to all the change but at the end of the day it seemed like all was worth it.
It seems like SoCal has a pretty good org. their price is fair also. If I could make any suggestions for them I would have to say if they provided lunch for all the riders at no charge that would be great. The reason I say that is because some other org's. that charge less to ride provide free lunch, they did have a company there but they wanted $6 for a hot dog! I figure I spend $185 on one day entry plus $5 per person gate fee plus all the misc, it would be nice to have lunch provided.
I also had the pleasure of meeting BWHIP , he is a very nice guy who has a very deep passion for riding, not to mention he is very fast and makes it look very easy.
I will post up some pics when the company puts them up on there site.
I will be out there again on DEC-3, look foward to seeing you there.
Thanks for listening.

Re: SoCal Track day 11-12-06

Riding all year long... the mind boggles.

Good writeup. We'll have to live vicariously this winter through these west coast trackday reports - keep 'em coming.
