KSSS May 3rd and 4th

I'm seriously considering signing up for the Schwantz School class, on Th-Fr May 3/4. I'll probably fly down and use their bikes.

Anybody else been thinking about this? Any feedback from former class members?

I'm hoping that with this instruction and one more year on the SV, I can progress enough to make use of the capabilities of a modern 600 in '08.

It is a great school and if you make your current riding level and goals known to the instructors, you will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge and increase your level of riding exponentially. If I were you, I would run the 600s for the school, as their SVs are nothing like yours (stock suspension). It may seem a handful during the first couple of sessions, but by the afternoon you'll really start making progress.

Re: KSSS May 3rd and 4th

Ditto what Ab said about the 600s. HondaGal and I took the SVs out for the first session. We'd been there the day before for the women's day on our own bikes. One of the instructors wanted to know why we were on the SVs when we rode inline 4 literbikes. We said we thought we could learn more about cornerspeed on the SV. He assured us the 600s cornered as well as the SVs and told us to try them since we were used to inlines. We did and didn't throw a leg over the SV again. The 600s were unbelievably easy to ride. I was concerned that I'd spend at least half of the first day just getting used to the bike but that wasn't the case. A couple of laps and I felt right at home. You've ridden a 954, I don't think the 600s will be a handful for you.

HondaGal says "No more SV650 talk, ditch it and get the 600. Don't wait! "

The 600 isn't a handful for someone w/ experience. Especially w/ as much experience as you.

Be forewarned, if you ride a suzuki 600 at the track you will want one when you leave.

No, but I'll meet you at the plasma donor center every week until May..

I think this level of training is more important for me than a few more track days or pieces for the bike.

Time will be too much of an issue. I'd fly to this one.

It says "or bring your own Suzuki" ... think they will notice if I put Suzuki badges on the RC and call it a TL?

Looks like a very cool school, and something I would love to do. I'll have to see how things look after the first of the year. I'm sure you'll love it.
