Hey everyone, I just got back from doing another Track Day with So-Cal, the day ended up being beautiful. This was my first time going to an event alone but there was a few friends of mine there so that helped. The last month there was about 50 riders and the track was very crowded but this time there was about 35 riders. The morning started out like normal with a riders meeting but So Cal org did a give away for Christmas, The sponsors for So Cal did an awesome job with the give away, a set of leathers were donated to the Org, two pairs of gloves were given to the riders along with a GPR damper, $200.00 gift certificate to Racers Edge, and my favorite prize, a breakfast sandwich from Big-T's BBQ!!!
Overall the AM went very good with only a couple unexpected red flags and the afternoon went good except for a couple of pretty hard crashes which one envolved the ambulance. This is only my 4th track day and I am definetly getting smoother and faster. The two guys I usally ride with are always faster than me but this time I was passing them. Later in the day I was entering t-7 and when I went to downshft I found out that the bolt that holds the shift linkage arm the the shift lever had fell out so that was pretty interesting.. My goal is to try to do at least one track day a month till the 2008 WERA season starts and hopefully be able to participate in some racing. I dont want to just start racing and try to get up to pace during the season, Id rather get a fair amount of tracktime/experiance then go out and actaully have a fighting chance of getting some good finishes. I will be back in Pahrump Jan 14 and Jan 21 so I will report those days also. I put some pictures from the day, and let me say the Mike LaPutt from TrackDay.Net does a great job capturing the moment! Thanks.
