Sportbike Tracktime- Grattan

Did anyone attend this event this past weekend? Have they re-paved the whole track?

No the entire track hasn't been done. If you're familiar with Grattan, they started the new stuff at the entrance to turn 5 (right-hander after the "hump") and it carries through to the entrance of the front straight.

If you're like me and your reference points were mostly on the track surface, expect to take it easy your first few laps/sessions in order to figure out some new reference points, 'cause all the old ones are gone!

All that said, the new stuff is great! Loads of grip and is holding up well so far. According to Sam, the section from T1 through T4 will be done some time this year (probably toward the end of the season), so we'll see...

Re: Sportbike Tracktime- Grattan

Thanks for the info. I treated my brother to a track day on my race bike, back in Oct and thats when I noticed they had repaved part of it. Thought they would have done the whole thing by now. Cant imagine what the new track record is going to be, after the WERA National this year...
