Re: Putnam Park this past weekend (Nov 2)

Saw many fireblades at Putnam this weekend. Don't know if any were .org members or not. We got really lucky and had 72 deg weather. It's been known to snow a few times in Nov.

Anyways to the point... Putnam is a great motorcycle track. Smooth pavement, lots of runoffs. Made me feel a lot more comfortable than I have been before. Also about half of their weekends throughout the year are motorcycle events.

Around here it's known as Injureman Raceway. Some of us don't feel it's all that safe . . .

Re: Putnam Park this past weekend (Nov 2)

I have mixed emotions about Putnam.

Positives: Good pavement, nice track layout.

Cons: Pitwall on exit of last turn allows NO runoff, plus there is no camping.

Here is a buddies Gix750 slamming into and bouncing off the pitwall(back onto the race surface) earlier this year. He was lucky to escape with only a mild concussion.

I was there also...guess I should of introduced my self....I did notice that there were two other 929's a red and white one like mine and a yellow and black one.

I was pitted under the www.Indysuperbikes.com 's tent.....

last session of the day I went off turn one around 100mph into the grass....rode about to highway 40 before the bike slowed down....kept it up though....

Tires went to crap that last lap and I kept pushing when I should of pitted out...

That should be a key difference between a track day and a race weekend. Just take it a little easy on 10. There's nothing to be lost at a track day except an ambulance trip. It would seem to me that tracks like MidO would be a lot worse for motorcycle safety.

I was on the yellow fiberglassed F4 with the Hondaline leathers in the Intermediate group. (not the slower yellow F4 with the B&W Vanson)

Ab, I thought you said Gingerman was 'Injureman'? Does it apply to Putnam too?

Yep . . . Putnam had their first motorcycle death within 3 months of opening. They have had a few more since then . . .
