Kentucky gets new track!!!

A new track is being built in northern Kentucky, near the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. Looks to be aimed at track days for bikes and cars. As configured, the course is 2.5 miles long. Looks like it'll be a great faciltiy. Little far for me to go but will keep an eye on its progress.

This is great. A 3 hour drive from my house. Almost an hour closer to me than Mid-Ohio...and an easier drive, too. STT is having the first trackdays there April 11-12. That's Easter weekend, though.

Track update: Paving is completed and a spring opening is on schedule. Rumor is Sportbike Track Time - Get on the right track !! Well, it looks like the first date of 2009 is set for April 11-12. STT is charging $165 a day and has one weekend a month on the calendar. Can't wait for spring!!! See you there.

I actually went to the Grand Ole Opry back in the 60's and it was really good.

Oh and I cruised by the other day and they need to pave the driveway still.... be interesting to hear the conditions on the first day as they will likely still be putting the finishing touches on what sounds like a cool place.

Well, to be fair to Tn., all the good parts of the Dragon(US129) are on the Tn. side of the boarder. Anyone get dates for Bluegrass yet. I am scheduled for May 30 & 31 and trying to line up the 4/11 and 8/9 dates also. Hope to see a few of you out there.

I got locked in and paid for Barber in March, then the first 2 Sparta Track days. I'm stoked about it, 45 minuted from my house and looks to be a really nice facility.

Did anyone notice on STT's site that the Bluegrass track days all started out at $165/day, then later were changed to $170/day except for the Apr 11 and 12 dates? Raising prices already and haven't even started yet.

They haven't been able to apply the final polymer top coat to the track due to the weather. I think Me and Brian may try and got to VIR since we don't have an April Track day on the books anymore.

Know of any other events that weekend?
