WOTBlake : The main problem you have is people want to pay at the track...they (and me) don't want to send a check and then have it POOR rain all day. Two 1/2 hour groups is going to be almost TOO much track time...trust me. It will wear you out quick. Next time you do this, I'd make it a 1 day track day...a monday. It would only be 2500 for a monday...
| You are missing the point... This isn't a trackday group that is putting this thing on. Its just us (fireblades.org members), if it rains, we get wet... We can't have a list of 20 people that want to pay at the track and be counting on that money, only to have it look cloudy or something and no one show up and the rest of us get stuck holding the bill.
Thats the whole reason for paying in advance. There isn't an organization associated with this event. Its the members here putting the funds forth and me coordinating it, thats it. No nesba funding, no cornerspeed school backing. I personally don't want people that only want to pay if its 85 degrees and sunny, being that there is a group of everyday joe's putting this thing on, we need more commitment than that. We all aren't just meeting at jennings, pay our $125 and ride with no cares or worry as to how many show and how many don't. We bought the entire track out rain or shine, its ours and we have to pay for it regardless...
And yes, two days of two groups of 30 minute sessions IS too much tracktime, thats the whole point! |

flasher2001 : the fewer stunnas, the better.
| what an asshole
Just because I can ride a wheelie doesn't mean I can't ride fast (and safe) around a track. There are so many elitist on this board who think they are better then everyone, I just don't understand it. I try not to put anyone down...
It's like i'm shunned because I enjoy all aspects of riding, I don't understand it. You never seen someone who stunts going around talking badly about people who die everyday taking turns at 2 and 3 times the posted limit, but if a guy rides a wheelie down the same road you all get your panties in a wad.
My avatar is my riding a 1/2mile wheelie down a closed airport (150ftx3000ft) in full leathers, boots, gloves, helmet, and a back protector...I guess i'm a squid.
Back to the topic at hand...
I have rented the track before, I know the financial obligation you have to the track. I just think opening the doors would be a good idea...and then refund peoples money at a later time. When we rent Jennings we also have about 1/2 the people pay upfront and let some pay at the track...
I really want to go, but I can't pay over 125 for a day at jennings...I'd rather go ride barber for that price.
Thanks for all the work to put this on...I know it's a lot. |

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! but what if we open the doors and are counting on some to show up and none do? What if it rains all weekend and no one shows and there are only 15 people at the track? Thats over 400 each. As a coordinator, I owe it to everyone that is attending to make sure things run smoothly. I can't take that chance... |

| I thought you already had a good amount already paid.
When it comes down to it...you guys will have a great time regardless! I'll still see about coming... |

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! A good amount of it IS already paid... But just don't want everyone hanging in limbo as to what the day will finally cost. I want them to know upfront (tomorrow) what their part is, so when we all get to the track, we can just ride... No stress on if people will show up and no worrying if they Don't show up... If we had some sort of setup with jennings where we could just show up and whoever showed up could ride, I'd have no problem... But I have a several thousand dollar commitment with them right now and I gotta make sure it gets paid before ANYONE makes the drive down to the track. I hope that makes some sense.
I don't want a stressful day, I want the stress to happen now, so when I get to Jennings, I can work on lap times and following venom51 or jetblast or the other resident fast guys...
Those are the motivations behind my actions... And you're right, we just want to have a good time... |

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! Yeah, I'd rather do 2 days, especially since I'm travelling a long distance to get there. *It wouldn't be worth the trip from NJ to only do one day. *That's part of the great thing about this day, it's not your 'normal' trackday. *Many folks are coming from some pretty good distances and it'll be fun to meet people from the forum.
Rain? *That's just a chance you always take when you're doing anything motorcycle related, whether it be a trackday or a planned long touring trip.
$125 days? I never see those. Things must be cheaper in the south. A typical day near me with any of the trackday clubs is at least $165. |

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! Weekdays are much harder to work out. Esp if the track is as far as NFMP is. If it was VIR, that could be worked out. Also I wish I knew where to do track days for 85 bucks!!!
I'm looking forward to having a wide open track and fun folks to hang out with. |

On any given day, what is the number of riders they limit it to? |

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! The verdict is its a go, I'll be emailing everyone directly with the diff. Its much better than I was thinking it would be.
smkeatr has two guys on deck and I am waiting to hear from one gentleman as well. Other than that, we're good! The difference I send out to people will be the worst case scenario and will assume the three (3) above don't attend... If they do, the difference will just be that much smaller than what I send out saturday morning.
All that are registered and paid, expect an email from me this evening.

| Re: JenningsGP: What to do? Solution found! Okay,
I sent a long and wordy letter to everyone affected by the change in price... I think everyone will be okay with the final numbers... And keep in mind, the number I sent out should go down some more before saturday...
I should know more tomorrow and as I know more for sure, I'll let you guys know...
