Indy SBK

I ordered a 15/44 Vortex sprockets and a DID 530VM X-ring chain for around 180 bucks when I did the on line ordering and check out it didn't show any S/H charges so I assume no S/H charges.
Well I get an Email toninght saying it shipped today and it is 24 bucks to ship! Does that sound right? Now don't get me wrong I am not bashing them I am just doing a little checking before I call and make an ass out of myself if this is the normal rate. I will place a call with them in the morning it just seems like 24 bucks is alot to ship that stuff. I know it's heavy but damn. Again this is not a slam they are good people.

Re: Indy SBK

Depending on the method of shipping, that seems a little high, but maybe not by much. Is it UPS ground, or?? I've ordered from Indy before, and was pretty satisfied with the purchase. I would also hope that they would tell you ahead of time what the shipping charges should be, or at least warn you that they will be calculated and added, rather than just a surprise.

Re: Indy SBK

Yeah this is just normal UPS nothing fancy. But it was a total suprise tonight when I saw the charges. When I was checking out and it showed no S/H charges I assumed it was free since it was over 100.00 like lots of online places do. So after I place that order I forgot to add my DB windscreen so I go back online and order it get to checkout and it costs 13 to ship so I say ok since it's not over 100 there are charges. So the next morning I call and have them add it to this order to save S/H charges they say no sweat. But they didn't add it so I have to call tomorrow to find out WTF happened. I am sure it is a simple mistake.

They're cool guys, local to here. The S&H is automatically calculated by their cart system, so I am kind of surprised it didn't calculate it for you. But I can promise they're not trying to screw you or make up their profit/loss with S&H charges! Of course, I just go in to the shop and save all those charges anyways...

They used to partner up witrh Curve Chasers for two days a year out there, but they parted ways at the end of last season... Not sure if they're doing their own days now or what.

Dave,

I have purchased al ot of stuff from them in the past and they are excellent all around. But that $24 for S/H does seem a little high. You definitely want to call them and verify that it was not an error.

Re: Indy SBK

Just talked with Dominic and that is the right price from what I understand is that it is 2 S/H charges one for the drop ship of the sprockets and one for the chain.

That's BS... I would order it from somewhere that has them both, and will have one shipping charge. You shouldn't be penalized because they have to drop ship....

Sure does seem a bit high to me as well. I have ordered from them in the past and have nothing but good things to say. I delt with Chris Fruits and what a stand up guy. Really helped me out and gave me a SMOKIN deal on my Suomy Extreme model I got.

Re: Indy SBK

I'm surprised they drop shipped it... Was it standard ground shipping, or did you request expedited shipping or something? There's a fine balance on shipping orders. If you wait to ship the order until it's complete, someone will complain that it took too long to get part of it. If you have part of it drop shipped, then the shipping charges are higher. But I will agree, those charges do seem a bit high for ground shipping...

Nothing fancy on ordering just whatever the regular is on the online ordering. They say they dropshipped them but I don't have anything now he said it will be here on the 24th.

Seriously. Its my big beef with those ebay guys who charge HUGE "Shipipng and handling" charges for small stuff. They are using something like 7 dollar shipping and trying make profit on it.

I didn't have anything rushed just ordered it all online at the sametime and it cost 25 bucks to ship. They said the sprockets were drop shipped but funny thing was is that it all showed up in one box. Chain, sprockets and DB windscreen. I will think twice nextime I order there, if ever after this.
