Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

I have to say Freddy went out of his way to help me even after I picked up my bike. There was damage to my radiator which was apparently due to some road debris that I picked up while out riding. Total repair cost would have been really, really high. Freddy went above and beyond to get me a reasonable price that I was comfortable paying. Thanks again.

I left feeling like they thought I was an idiot and would sign anything they put in front of me. Went to buy a 600RR, which you show as $7999.00 plus dealer prep etc. They first offered me $9399.00 I thought maybe that would include all the dealer prep charges and taxes. Nope!! Your salesman asked me what I was looking for and I told him your competition is offering $8399 including destination and prep. I would only have to pay sales tax and regi fees. He asked me if I was ready to buy right now if he would match the price, he even offered trying for $8299. I told him I would buy immediately if he did. He takes my driver's license, credit card and comes back later with a filled out sales contract for $8299 PLUS ALL YOUR normal charges for a grand total of over $10,000.00 !! Why not just say you can't match the price? Are they hoping everyone is stupid and will just sign the contract?

If you're trying to rid the repuation that preceeds you, this is not the way!
Just in case you edit your post again.

I still find it weird that people that register today and make a single post go this route.

To assist CF here, when did you visit and who did you talk to? Why not give CF some information so he can validate your story or not?

Now we wait for the response from CF. Most people make claims and then never provide proof, you have. So to you. Oh and

I spoke with my sales staff, they did not think you are an "idiot" They were not able to match your deal without charging freight and set up. Your offer was presented to managment and it was declined. We dislosed the total out the door price to you before we took any money from you. If you can buy your bike for that price, you are paying less than I pay as a dealer. MSRP on the bike is close to $10,000. Remember $8299, frieght and prep, plus NY sales tax comes to over $10,000. Nobody tried to "get over" on you. I don't know why you are even posting on this thread? This thread is for info on the industry. I wish you the best, and hope you ride safe.

Gonna be a tough act to pull out this weekend but will try to get down maybe next weekend , now should i deal with you in general or one of the sales guys ? The reason i ask is i don't have alot of free time and you being the head guy and have the final say in the deal it would be faster to deal with you direct instead of a salesman going back and forth with numbers and plans that will work the best for us both . enjoy you're weekend.

Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

From all email responses from Crazy Freddy, he seems to be a decent, stand-up guy and is willing to do things to right his customers. The thing I don't get is why it has to be done this way, learning through the website about complaints. He seems to be reachable at the store during the store hours; he posted the number and extension. He may not deal with day to day operations. The manager/sales who do surely know one of the complaints will find its way here. Why would they, the manager/sales, still do some tricks knowing the Freddy will come to the rescue at a later time? Is it good/bad cop game? I am sure and hope there is a training session for all sales after what happened at the store and all sales are received the same training session.

I was in the neighborhood and decide to check out the Crazy Freddy's store and had a confilct feeling towards it in general. Knowing the price for a specific bike, I inquired about the price quote at the store.

This is what happened:

The sales person walked right past without yielding or saying execuse me forget even mentioning if a help was needed on the floor. That was fine by me. After looking a bit, I went to him for some guidance. Upon hearing that I was interested in shopping for a bike, he changed his moody mode and lighted up a bit. He however had to run it by his boss for a price quote. I specifically asked for the quote for a 2007 leftover stock. He came back with a 2008 quote. How did I know it? The quote was on the manufacturer's website and was from another dealer in an earlier week. Just for the amusement, I asked if he was sure about the quote. He said he didn't specify the year to the boss who passed on the quote. Fine, the next step involved some sales pitches, how soon, been to other dealers, cash payment or to be financed, of course, what would I do to earn you business, etc. He went back and forth from the boss who supposedly ok the quote. Still, it was a huge difference than the price paid by a friend of mine for the exact leftover.

After I told him about the price my friend paid, he suddently seem to take the quote matter into his own hand, starting crossing quote one after another. The quote looked quite attractive though. Here came if not the last part, freight, $495 and assembely fee $395, on a standard form. There were some other miscllaneous charges, DMV, etc which were fine. Bascially the form says that all bikes have the same freight and assembly fees if there are in fact fees should be paid in the first place.
When I inquired if 2008 for the same model available, without consulting the boss, he said no.

This guy in fact repeated " what would I have to do to earn the business". How about being honest and up front about the quote and among other things.

Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

Salesman are commissioned. They start @ MSRP and work their way down.

Our freight and prep are printed on the buyers order for all to see. They are not hidden.

If you had a price that a friend paid, you could of told us what we needed to do upfront to "quicken" the negotiation.

Which salesman did you deal with? Did you speak to a manager? What type of bike?

How was the salesman dishonest?

I would love to earn your business.. Please call Jimmy Reda the GM or myself @ 516-795-6400 Ext 2

Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

Thanks for the prompt response. It was just a general feeling towards the store where I decided to check it out even after reading some posts here.

I would not know this is how it works for the "quick" negotiation.

The quote came back 1st was for 2008 model at MSRP. The sales said it was for 2007 model when I asked him again he said it may have' ve been for 2008; he then said he didn't specify the year when getting the quote from boss.
When inquiring about if 2008 model is available, he said no without even thinking twice, which is a bit bewildered. When in fact at the CF website, it indicates the model availability and MSRP quote. I understand that every salesman earns commissions based on sales and try to push the leftover first. Nothing's wrong with that. It'd be more sensible to explain the price differences between the leftover and the new model. Let the customer decide based on provided information.

The freight and prop are printed on the buyer order form, no question about it. I am not quite sure how these work; other ppl (refer to the link in the original post) contend these costs are a part of MSRP. Would all bikes have the same freight and prep fees(It's a kind of implausible)? It's a mid range bike.

Thanks again for the prompt reply.

Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

Freight and prep are a dealer charge. We charge them on every unit, but we will also discount the sale price of specific units according to their value.

Sounds like the salesman was possibly confused or there was a misunderstanding. We keep sales info on every customer that walks in the door, so if I had a little more info I could investigate a little more.

MSRP is a reccommend price. We quote prices based on market value. Harleys, mercedees, GSXR 1000's usually sell for more than MSRP. We also sell units below cost to move them out.

Obviously we would heavily discount an 07 to move it out.

What type of bike are you trying to buy?

Please feel free to contact me directly to get you a rock bottom out the door price on either an 07 or 08 model. It would be my pleasure to help. Please mention firblades to my secretary Tara when you call. I will be in first thing in the morning.

Thanks,

Freddy

You see it all the time, "oh they ripped me off help me, help me, lets call a lawyer, lets call the press" don't be so bluddy lazy. Research your purchase, clearly you know how to use a PC and there is a big tell all search engine out there called GOOGLE.....

Re: Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports

Its usually up to whoever is financing the deal whether or not you have to have ins, in KY you can't even leave dealership without some kind of Ins.. Remember salesmen are salesmen and there job is to make money.. Its your job to read over everything and do your proper research before you make a purchase.. Most lending insitutions require ins on any motorcycle or car since they a using the vehicle as collateral.. Instead of bashing Freddy then be a mature adult and contact him personally.. Instead of bashing him in this thread... He has provided all his contact info..

Lets quit making this thread any longer, give Freddy a call himself and I'm sure you both will be able to sort out your husbands "problem".

I believe 516-795-6400 Ext 133 is his number...
