BikeBandit.com - Parts in stock = On order

Hey guys, I ordered brakes and a jersey from BikeBandit.com last Saturday that were supposedly "in stock". As soon as I submitted the order, the items went to "on order". I checked yesterday (a week later) and the items are still on order. I sent an email to customer service, and they sent back a rubber stamp response that they would be shipped within 24-48 hours (like they said to start with).

I have now ordered them from another company and I will return the entire order to BikeBandit.com. I have already called my credit card company (AmEx) and told them I will dispute the charge if the online store gives me problems with the return. They said not to worry, and they will take care of the problem. They agreed that I should order from another company and return the items.

If we start sending back orders for bad customer service, maybe these companies will learn that they have to do the right thing.

I had the same issue with Motorcycle Superstore when I ordered my tires, but accepted the order because I need the tires to get the bike back on the road. I will not order from them again either .

Most online stores (not just motorcycle stroes) don't have stock but use drop ship methods from their suppliers.

I use Dennis Kirk and MRCycles. Dennis Kirk has their own stock i am sure, and MRCycles has stock that comes out of atlanta. MR has never taken mpre than a week to get to me in Tx, and Dennis Kirk has different shipment methods, normally i get the stuff from them in 2-3 days.

He's correct. Except in some cases, rather than using drop shipping (which would be faster) they have the items shipped to them, and then they ship them to you. That's why a lot of online stores, if you look at their shipping info on most items, it'll say something along the lines of "Ships in 3-5 business days." 3-5 business days!? I gave you my business TODAY!! If you're going to claim to have it in stock, you better be sending out the item the very next available business day!!!

The whole reason they say "3-5 business days" is, if you think about it, that's about how long it takes to get anything shipped from anywhere in the states. For example, here in California, if we order something from Parts Unlimited, we'll see where it's coming from. The farthest warehouses they have are in North Carolina and New York, and those say 5 days ground shipping. So in this example, that's where your first 5 business days just came from....they said they would ship it in 3-5 business days, but what they really meant was that it would take them 3-5 business days to get it before they send it along to you...
