| I got well screwed Just a warning about DougDeGood07
I payed $520 + $100 shipping for a 929 front wheel and forks, I viewed pix of the items he posted in his for sale thread, they looked ok so I payed the money, Doug later said the shipping was more than he thought so I sent another $40 to help.
When the wheel and forks arrived I was gutted, this was what he sent:
You don't have to spin the wheel to see how damaged it is! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...DSCF0005-5.jpg
There are 5 buckles in total and the wheel is unrepairable.
The right hand fork is bent slightly and the upper tubes are covered in dents and scratches, some more pix, All the pix he posted before the sale are now removed, wonder why? http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...Photo017-5.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...Photo019-3.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...DSCF0004-9.jpg
So to some up what this sale has cost me:
$520 for the wheel & forks
$100 shipping
$40 extra for shipping
£101 customs charges
£115 for another "straight" front wheel
£115 to get the fork straightened
So thats $640 + £330 ($417)
TOTAL $1,057 and the wheel DougDeGood07 sent me is in the rubbish
Doug did offer to refund me $235 in $50 instalments but only if I closed the paypal dispute, as it turned out he didn't have to worry as paypal only investigate none delivery not quality of goods, so well done Doug you got me good and proper |

| Re: I got well screwed Looks like that stuff's being lying in a paddock for a few years.
How bad is the wheel?
My 929 wheel has a pretty hefty dent in it but it's never caused any problems.
It's a real shame as I've often recommended this place ahead of Ebay for anybody chasing Blade stuff.

Here's the for sale thread and he quotes:
"I will be stripping down the bike tomorrow and cleaning everything to superb condition"
He asked for the thread to be deleted, wonder why? |

Now I get it, the pictures he showed me were of a red 929 that looked good, the forks arrived with a piece of "yellow" broken front fender still attached as the screw was rounded out, so he sent be the front end off the crashed bike! nice |

| Re: I got well screwed damn that sucks. I think we may need to put a post limit or some kind of dedicated trader rating on people, similar to rep but only for transactions.
i have been noticing people joining our forums just to try to sell something. i really dont think that should be allowed in here. i also hang out on newcelica.org and they have a trader rating system.
paypal sucks if thats the case. according to those rules you can buy something and as long as you receive "anything in any condition" your screwed. pretty crappy on paypals part
hopefully karma takes care of DougDegood07. shes a b!tch that bites hard. what goes around comes around so maybe lil dougie do good will get his soon enough...
if my post seems all over the place im sorry. this kind of thing really gets me crazy. |

I'm sure you can open a dispute on paypal for an item "significantly not as described" but you would have have had to send the parts back and prove with a postage tracking number.
suppose this doesn't help now though. |

After all that is supposed to be one of the benefits of using their service. Sucks you live so far. Thats grounds for a road trip and a good beat down. Best of luck w/ the situation. |

| Re: I got well screwed Always use a Credit Card with PayPal. Then you have recourse from the PayPal circus. If PayPal doesn't want to investigate the issue, then dispute the charge(s). Then if PayPal wants their money back, they can go after the seller.

which means he would have potentially forked out over $350 and have nothing to show for it!
if the paypal dispute is awarded to cabbie, and DougDeGood07 has already drawn the money out of his paypal account, paypal cant give any money back.
i went through this sh*t about 2 months ago |

And people like you Cabbie deserve a pat on the back for spreading the word. Cabbie managed to let me know of his bad experience on the other thread he has here at the Org. I will now not be in any way looking to purchase the bike he has listed. Thanks again, and may Karma take care of the rest.

| Re: I got well screwed I wouldn't hold much hope of paypal resolving anything. I had a similar problem with an internet transaction done through paypal a few years back. The $915 I paid to a guy in Belgium for an advertised item that didn't turn up never came home. Paypal took no responsibility for it at all. Try your credit card insurance if you paid by card. |

Try your credit card insurance if you paid by card. | I bought a set of GSXR forks about six months ago from a US wrecker but they never gave me a tracking number from USPS. Actually, they did give me a number but it wasn't a tracking number. It was apparently a preliminary number that they got simply for ringing to get a postage quote without actually sending anything. When the forks never arrived, all Paypal cared about was the tracking number. If the seller had a tracking number to prove they'd sent them then Paypal wouldn't have reimbursed me.
Worked out okay for me although it meant I lost interest in some other stuff they had :-)
