Hey guys,

In early January I contacted drizzle from this forum about an exhaust he was wanting to sell. On Jan 10th we agreed on an amount, I transferred the funds ($115 USD) through paypal and he then said he'd ship it out ASAP.

A week or so later I sent him an email asking if the item had been shipped, and if there was any shipping info he could provide me with, no answer. I sent another email a week for a few weeks, tried private messaging him here, no answer.

So in early Feb I contacted Paypal about it, went through the resolution process, sent him a message through that, no answer. Today they found in my favour and have had no contact from him at all, but because there are no funds in account they can do nothing about it.

Thats his profile. I know he was trying to sell other stuff off, I really hope they got their items because I sure haven't.

Course its totally my fault for having some faith in people's honesty. Oh well, just a lesson for others - even on this site you can't trust anyone.

I didn't get my money back! They found in my favour but nothing in his account, so I get zinch.

The more I look into it the more it looks deliberate. The email he used was only ever used for motorcycle related forums, usually trying to sell parts. The phone number he gave doesn't work, and now emails are failing to send (whereas before they were sending successfully). Seems like he dropped off the face of the earth. Can't hide from karma though.

Sorry that you could not get your funds back. Paypal's buyer protection scheme is a joke. I got stung via an ebay auction, where the guy sold pirayed dvds as though they were legit. There were a few of us that got stung so Paypal judged in (at least) my fabour. Still lost out money shipping the fake dvd out to the seller.

Someday when these people need medications they'll be given placebos.

I would have thought this to be quite serious, how come the knobs havnt done something about it or at least taken up a moral ground. Its seems that trivial things can get very serious treatment on here, but robbing and thieving seems to be ignored.
If Im wrong all and good but that is the general scenario protrayed here.

Well I would have thought would have been the right thing to do.
But first, as its the internet and we are allowed free speech on here, set up a thread where both parties can go at it. Ive noticed that one of the sponsors was allowed to do that so I assume the same right is allocated to a normal subscriber

If its fairly obvious that the guy/sponsor/whatever is unscrupulous then definately go with the ban, would have thought that that was policy anyway.

As for Drizzle's account still being active, we've had more than one sale that's gone bad get resolved after the fact. Had we banned the seller(s) at the time, they never would have been able to resolve the issue here with the buyer(s). Like Craigslist, eBay, or any other online site, people need to buy with caution. We don't condone scammers here, but we sure as hell can't police or keep track of every For Sale ad that gets posted.

I never said I thought you condoned scammers, what I was saying is that as its been shown on this thread that if an individual has been conning peeps I would have thought that that would have been a very serious offence and as the peeps responsible for the care of this site (which in my view is the subscribers) then the responsible thing to do is to ban him thus removing any future threat from him to your loyal subscribers.

Oh and RR I have spent my most of my life being threatened by individuals face to face unarmed and armed, so being threatened by a keyboard personage runs off my back like water off a ducks.
