| WTB RC51 tank I need a tank for the '02 RC51 although my plan is to paint it so year is not an issue. I prefer dent free but scratches are not an issue.
Also for the RC literate what kind of price is 'fair' for such a thing?
Alternately is there reasonable priced, good fitting aftermarket tanks available? (Opp has a CF for $1200 and rumors are the fit is not without modification )
Thanks
Plotting Sheep

| Re: WTB RC51 tank Threadjack:
OPP will make your bodywork out of Carbon/kevlar mix weave.
Very nice, this is the best material for bodywork IMO.
Kevlar is VERY abrasion resistant. Carbon adds stiffness/strength.
Ugly looking though. |

| Re: WTB RC51 tank Don't buy a carbon tank unless you have a lot of $$ and time, I speak from experience. I had a c/f tank on my Ducati and after about 1.5 years the gas ate right through the tank leaking all over. Had to have it sealed professionally and was always cautious about it leaking from then on. |

| Re: WTB RC51 tank Check e-bay from time to time. Only ones on there right now are one a dipshit tried to weld/braze and the metal is too far gone now to repair or one with a big dent in the side. |

| Re: WTB RC51 tank I bought some stuff from Brian @ 2-Fast. He parted out his RC. Not sure if he still has it, but he did have a tank available with some scuffing on it. http://www.2-fast.org/files/2001-RC51.htm His email address is BrianO@kpcom.com. Good luck! |

| Re: WTB RC51 tank Caveat emptor: 00/01 tanks don't fit the same as 02 and later. Also, 00 and some 01 tanks had a serious leaking problem (I spent several hours getting mine to stop leaking) at the rear mount weld. |

I will have to check the pump compatibility though Worst case I ride the stock tank until I find one the hope to get the blue to match decent (shouldn't be a huge problem)
