WTB 01 929RR rear gauge cover.

I need just the rear cover that has all good tabs for my 01 929RR

I tried to order one new from Ron Ayres but they don't carry such an item for my bike, just the 954. According to them you have to buy the entire gauge at over 400 bux where the back cover for the 954 only is 37 bux.

Anyone possibly have an old non working gauge that they could part with the back cover or let me know where I might find one?

thanks, will keep that in mind, still trying to find someone that might just have the back piece only available. Hate to buy things I don't really need.

Re: WTB 01 929RR rear gauge cover.

JeppinJeff,
I had the same problem and ended up going a different route. I was able to get a piece of scrap aluminum plate (3/32 or 1/8), made a template out of paper of the back, staying to the inside of the screw holes, transferred to the plate and cut. I drilled several holes in the plate (looked like swiss cheese) and glued the two together using gorilla glue and a weight. It isn't perfect, but unless you knew what you were looking for you would never know. And the price was right.........FREE

Thanks for that idea. I was thinking I may just have to get a little creative to get it back together and that would probably work well.

I just can't see spending over $ 100 for that little plastic cover. Let alone over $ 400 like the stealership wanted for a whole new gauge cluster.
