Need 2000 929RR front rotors

Current rotors are warped and need straight, unwarped replacements. OEM works, will also consider aftermarket pieces, have to be straight.

How badly warped are your rotors? You can send them to Will's Rim Repair -- Home and he'll straighten them for $10 each. I've used him as have many WERA racers...he's good, fast, and highly recommended.

Re: Need 2000 929RR front rotors

mene - do 1000rr rotors work on the 929rr? I haven't measured mine. Also, are they new?

Red Rider - They warped enough so that under light braking there is a very tangible pulsation, under heavy braking the front wheel makes little skipping noises like it is coming off the road a little :/. Needless to say I'm not riding until I get this fixed. Also, I know that with cars, you can lathe rotors back into shape, but I was under the impression bike rotors were already so thin that you shouldn't machine them but replace them?

He normally doesn't machine them. A lot of times it's the carriers that are tweaked. Will does excellent work...for $20, it's worth it to see if they can be repaired.

same mounting pattern & same wheel design since the first 900rr
you might want to check on the spacers though

they're coming off my 04 so they're not new but they've lived on easy street so they'll work fine

hey i saw your thread and was wondering how can you tell if it the carrier? are you talking about the front? i just put a set of new used rotors on my bike and didnt bother to check runout first but put them on with new pads and properly alligned the front wheel and a few hundered miles lated when i back the bike i hear a squeal. so i checked with a dial and the right one is tweaked. im gonna send it to wills but if the carrier is the cause id like to know of a check for this condition. thanks , julius.
