| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! frank,
to be 18 and full of testosterone its only natural you want a fast bike for your first. not the "best" idea you could have. your totally ready...did you get your permit yet? have you taken the msf rider course for beginners? have you even ridden a dirt bike? did you shop for safety gear yet?
if the answers to most of these questions is no i reccomend a different choice for your first bike. by no means am i putting you off either just a reccomendation from someone who has seen a lot of new riders go down.
look at ninja 250/500
suzuki sv650
ninja 650
or a older
cbr 600 f2 or f3
ive been riding on the streets since 98 and riding since the late 80s. plenty of experience and i am saving for a sv650 for a track bike. reason for this is i want to do track days and i want to learn properly. my 929 would be a handful for my first trip to the track. cant learn proper lines and technique if im to focused on trying to keep the beast beneath me in check... |

| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! first i just want to say thanks for giving me some advice! i really appriciate it! unfortunatley i havent gotten my bike permit and i have not taken the msf for begginers. but im tryin to get that stuff squared away now.what i do know, is that i want to ride safe! i have definately check out gear that would be good for me. i was even considering a crash cage. i also know that its gonna take some getting used to, to ride a sportbike, but ive been riding dirtbikes since i was ten so i got that part down. thanks again nd write me bak i really appreciate the input! im new to this!!! lol |

| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! with offroad exp. i say go with any of the bigger choices i gave you but if i was in your shoes with real experience in the dirt the f4i or sv650 would be a coin toss. suprised you havent looked at supermoto's. most fun ive ever had on a bike was on a supermoto. |

| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! yea i think supermoto is pretty sweet but i never had the opportunity to try it. definately sounds like something that id like though. i have looked at the f4i, but i didnt consider it as much as the cbr600rr. mostly cuz of the look. idk im really set on gettin a cbr. do you think that it would be a stupid decision to try and learn on it? i dont want go crazy on a bike, i just want to ride! you know? |

| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! i say if its gotta be a cbr go f4i. its comfortable and it is still a very nice looking bike. comfort is key though as experience comes with riding and if you are not comfy your probably going back to garage sooner. the f4i has more than enough power to get you into trouble fast. the rr even more so. we can advise you what to do, but it is still your decision...can always upgrade later even considering a hell of a starting point
used bikes range from 3000 to 4000 in most cases with low mileage in my area...
one last tip! worry less about what your first bike looks like as it may touch the ground at some point. most everybody drops there first bike if even only in the driveway lol
oh to touch on the supermoto again. they do very well if dropped. you can ask my brother his 08 had 2 spills before totalled by a mustang. link in my sig his name is mikey. if your curious about the bike. hit him up he loves his 09. he can even vouch on the importance of wearing all your safety gear. |

| Re: LOOKIN FOR A CBR600RR!!! HELP ME!!! if you dont mind the drive call or email omar "mngr" or jaime from monmouth cycles. they are in middletown nj. they sold me my blade and my bro 2 drz's good guys. check craigslist and local classifieds. if you are know what to look for you should be able to find a bike for a good price. btw i think omar has a nice leftover sv650 with full fairings in blue
these are guys i would consider friends and good guys to do business with. |
