RR is working fine so it wasn't the cause.

The bolt pattern is different so the stator won't bolt into the other cover and the centre hole is a different size so one won't fit over the rotor of the other model.
I would guess that the two different part numbers listed at both those links indicate one is for the 929 and the other is for the 954.
