bike sat for a week, got new battery, hard start, ran a while, husband rapped it to 2, let it sit running, saw it smoking on right side, then noticed oil leak on lower right side

Why did it need a new battery?
The smoke was coming from oil on the header pipe?

Wow. Idk. But found leak. Need right crankcase cover & gasket. How hard will this be to fix? Or to find part?

Is the cover itself leaking?
The clutch cover is $153 and the pickup cover is $25 but yours might be repairable.

no not the clutch- ordered parts today- not bad at all about 35 total- but wonder if it gonna be hard to fix -imma try to post a pic to show you what it is

From the fiche it looks to be a very simple swap involving just the three screws in the cover.
