Uhh, details... Mileage covered, 195.
Top speed 104 according to GPS. Not verified by WSP however :twofinger:
I've never been to Hurricane Ridge before, wow it's pretty up there. Elev. 5214 ft.
Yes Sanch & the posse, give us details.
You aren't really in jail..are you?!!! ??? | The road to the top of Hurricane is open, 1/2 of the parking lot it still closed though and there is a heavy dusting of sand on the road clear only in the auto-tire tracks most of the way up past the tunnels.
We were on the way to the top and I decided to loop back and get gas, that's when we ran acros ducfoot. Talk about a small world!
There was more sand than I cared for on Hurricane, later on in the year it will be a lot of fun. I wonder if the old lady rangers undstood the *intent* of us entering the park today. She said there were a lot of bikes up there today... true. but mostly BMW GS'!!
We picked up a fan-club at the base of Hurricane (5 squids in jeans tennis shoes and 600's ) which we dropped off somewhere on Black Diamond 2 turns into it and they were gone
Took my 112 bypass, did not see a single WSP which is good because at 205 ft./sec. the performance award would likely have involved some sort of compulsor award ceremony attendance with escort.. :crazy2:
Had a blast.. here are some pics.. http://demo2.marlinmedia.com/Olympic...in_Poulsbo.jpg Snagging some breakfast in Pouslbo http://demo2.marlinmedia.com/Olympic...ear_sequim.jpg Odd rock sculptures near Discovery Bay http://demo2.marlinmedia.com/Olympic..._the_parks.jpg .. add your caption here (I know that that photo means to me ) http://demo2.marlinmedia.com/Olympic...xt_assault.jpg Suiting up and preparing to meet some serious twisties http://demo2.marlinmedia.com/Olympic...lallum_Bay.jpg End of the run, tanked up and read to blast from Clallum to Kingston (left ~5:00pm - entered Kingston ~7:00pm) you do the math

| Re: Hurrican Ridge & Olympics curve-fest (w pics!) Yeah, I had a pretty good time and it seemed like the mysterious 1k rider did too!
I just added this route map. Sorry about all the FREAKING yellow boxes.. you can't turn off the waypoints on MS Streets and Trips... (upside is I know the guy who worked on it at MS and he entered a bug to fix it)
I'm still grinnin... shouldes a little sore but grinnin.
Software says 337 miles (my odo agrees.. not too bad for MS software) and 9hours 11 min driving time. We left at 11:00 and quit at 7:00pm.. hm. almost dead on.
Now of course that does not take into account our good and bio breaks and photo ops.. |

Good shots, though. And like booth said, feel free to post some pics of the scenery! | That's the thing I was telling Booth.. I need to figure out some way to mount the camera on my bike so I can fire off a shot while riding. Riding alon the straigh with the beach and crashing waves on the right while riding supurbly banked turns is something I'd like to get images off. I've tried with my video cam but it's such a POS it's worse than no picture at all! |
