| Re: LOL at Seattle San Jose is not much better. Some friends just bought a small fixer-upper for.. $880,000 (the original winning bidder at $930k could not close). The wife has seen it and it needs a ton of work before they can move in. Insane..
My buddy who lives just outside Sac in Stanford Park said his property has skyrocketed and if they have to buy there now they could not afford it.
I do recall that an ex-girlfriend of mine was able to find a decent price on an apartment on crack-head row (J street) |

| Re: LOL at Seattle Everyone in Seattle tells me, "If you think this is expensive, you should look at the prices in California". This is very funny to me because the argument is hilarious. "If you think the price of the Bentley is expensive, you should look at the Ferrari Enzo price" |

Yeah, it's weird. Even with the tax advantage, which is substantial, it would cost me more to buy the house I'm living in than it does to rent it. |

| Re: LOL at Seattle I've lived in Seattle all my life. In 1973 the state of California and Oregon moved into Seattle and F*&KED the housing costs. Three bedroom homes that sold for $35,000 in 1973 sold for over $100,00 five years later. Those same homes today are going for $500,000 to 750,000. Seattle natives grew to dislike Californians and a lot of California bashing went on for years. Yeah, I know you can't hold back progress, if that's what you call it, but who better to dislike than Californians. After all, they've got beautiful weather year round and in Seattle sunshine is a yearly event. Laugh at Seattle but show us a little sympathy having to live in a city where rain is king and housing costs have gone through the roof. Other than that it's a great place to live... |
