SoCal riders hitting this?

http://parts411.com/

It's the same day as the Daytona FX race, and they'll probably be showing it, but this is too close to the Crest & GMR for me not to ride down and make a day of it.

Anyone else?

Conq- just realized what they used for the "flyer-shot".

Though Parts411 is a legitimate business, I have to denounce the use of reckless behavior which may encourage others to act irresponsibly, whether depicted shot is an actual photo, or cartoon type depiction.

What knuckleheads for even entertaining the thought of using this kind of format for advertisement. I'm sure this will hurt their business.

With that said, anyone going?

I refuse to give those assclowns any of my money. They are pretty shady in the way the sell stuff, they have amazing prices to get you interested, then charge you $20-30 to ship it, something that should cost $8.

Re: SoCal riders hitting this?

Actually I was more interested in coming down to ride the Crest and GMR, and the "Free Giveaways" and "T-Shirt Contest" than ordering from them, but that's good to know G-Force.

I either order from a local shop, KneeDraggers, or Ron-Ayers, so I haven't had to deal with their customer service. Maybe I'll catch you out in the canyons that day?

Not sure I'll have a streetbike to ride by then. Also will be preparing for the Buttonwillow track day on March 14.

Re: SoCal riders hitting this?

It's hard to tell. The C-Trans page is infamously f-ed up, so there are no planned closures, except past Newcombs, and I don't know if that' accurate.

No idea when this was updated:

SR 2
[LOS ANGELES & VENTURA CO.'S]
THE NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND CONNECTORS TO SOUTHBOUND I 5 /IN LOS ANGELES/
(LOS ANGELES CO) ARE CLOSED FROM 1800 HRS ON 3/10/05 TO 0600 HRS ON 3/11/05 -
DUE TO CONSTRUCTION - DETOURS ARE AVAILABLE

THE NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND CONNECTORS TO EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND SR 134
/IN GLENDALE/ (LOS ANGELES CO) ARE CLOSED FROM 1800 HRS ON 3/10/05 TO 0600 HRS
ON 3/11/05 - DUE TO CONSTRUCTION - DETOURS ARE AVAILABLE

THE NORTHBOUND CONNECTOR TO EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND I 210 /IN LA CANADA/
(LOS ANGELES CO) IS CLOSED FROM 2000 HRS ON 3/10/05 TO 0500 HRS ON 3/11/05 -
DUE TO CONSTRUCTION - A DETOUR IS AVAILABLE

IS CLOSED FROM 14.2 MI EAST TO 18.5 MI EAST OF LA CANADA (LOS ANGELES CO)
- DUE TO A LANDSLIDE - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

IS CLOSED FROM 3.3 MI EAST OF NEWCOMB'S RANCH TO ISLIP SADDLE
(LOS ANGELES CO) - DUE TO SNOW - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN
ALTERNATE ROUTE

IS CLOSED FROM ISLIP SADDLE TO 5 MI WEST OF BIG PINES (LOS ANGELES CO) -
WINTER CLOSURE - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

IS CLOSED FROM 5 MI WEST OF BIG PINES TO BIG PINES (LOS ANGELES CO) -
DUE TO MUD SLIDES - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

[SAN BERNARDINO & RIVERSIDE CO.'S]
NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.

But, I ain't skeered, and don't need much of an excuse to go ride anyway. GMR looks like a safe bet, and I think AFH is open. If anyones been by, post up...

Re: SoCal riders hitting this?

Checked this site, and it don't look good-

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/angeles/cond...ons-road.shtml

According to this AFH, GMR, ACH @ La Canada is a no-go. I'll check at the number provided tomorrow.

Not looking good though , might go West instead

Re: SoCal riders hitting this?

Little T is a crap hole, GMR is closed, AFH is good from palmdale to ACH with occational debris. Going up ACH from Shell station to AFH is dirty, take it easy. Otherwise Its open to at least Newcombs. Thats the word onthe street as of the 9th...and the cops are still handingout tickets
