| New to Phoenix Hey,
I just moved to Phoenix 3 weeks ago and I am looking for some people to ride with or give me an idea of where to go. I like backroads and trackdays not really into stunting.
Let me know,
George |

| Re: New to Phoenix Welcome to AZ. There are some nice roads up that way. Salt River Canyon and Tortilla Flats to name a few. Of course you'll have to drive out of town to get to them, but it's worth the ride. As for trackdays you have Firebird right there in Chandler and Arroyo Seco in New Mexico. I have not ridden Firebird but have been to many trackdays to wath my friends. They have three tracks they run there. Here's a link. http://www.aztrackday.com/home.asp

I wanted to do one last trackday at Grattin but it just didn't work out that way. How is your year going? I do look forward to the option of being able to ride year round. |

Also, if you are going to hit up some backroads on the ST let me know. I did a lot of work to the suspension but I need to get it dialed in and usually dealers aren't my first choice. I will be at Firebird in October for their bike fest thing and hopefully shortly after that a trackday or two ...Oh I work at Sprint at Arrowhead if you need anything. |

| Re: New to Phoenix Things are OK here - there's a good chance for nice weather Friday at Grattan, and that's all I can really ask for.
Not that these are great MC rides, but while you're in AZ, you have to check out the sliding rock at Oak Creek Canyon ( one of the most beautiful spots on earth, IMO) Also, visit Canyon de Chelle. Take the troop transporter ride through the canyon, there's hundreds of undisturbed Anasazi ruins, pictographs, hyroglyphs, etc. Really impressive.
Have fun there. |

| Re: New to Phoenix Take the blade out to the Team Arizona trackday in September. Kevin from Race-Tech is always out there doing suspension tuning. He charges $20 and he'll dial it in to the correct sag and tune the suspension up to your liking. Great guy.
If you want help on setting sag, get on that webpage I sent a PM about and ask. There are alot of very smart and experienced people on that site that will help you.
I don't know crap about suspension setup, but if you do and need an extra hands I'm pretty sure Nickelli and I could help out. We both live close to you.
Ok, the skinny on trackdays in Arizona. There are two groups that run trackdays.
Arizona Trackday - www.aztrackday.com runs 4 - 20 min sessions
Team Arizona Trackday - www.motorcycletraining.com runs 3 - 20 min sessions
I have friends that ride both groups. I have personally ridden once with AzTrackday and about 20+ with Team Arizona Trackday.
My personal opinion is that Team Arizona Runs a safer and more organized trackday.
The one time I rode at Arizona Trackday, they had way to many people in each group. I would say about 36+ in each session on a 1.3 mile track, talk about sardines. I've also went out to see friends ride at their trackday and noticed that the sessions appeared to be over filled.
Team Arizona limits the number of riders on the track. They tend to max out on the number of riders on track to about 30, that includes the instructors and control riders in that total.
You don't have to take my word on it, just attend both trackdays and you'll quickly see what I'm talking about. Like I said though I have friends that have to have two trackdays a month, so they ride both all the time and they say the same thing.
Oh yeah, I have a tire changer and balancer at the house, so if you need tires changed let me know. I've changed out three of Nick's! |

On that note, hey Rick know anyone with 600RR parts, like a subframe or upper fairing stay for cheap? |
