| Inaugural SBA1000 - Eat your heart out Gumball 10,000 Turns*, 1000 Miles. 24 Hours or Less... Any Questions?
First, I don't know if I'll be doing this this year, it depends on a lot of things, but I WILL be doing this next year! Sport Bike Adventures, LLC - Home IBA - World's Toughest Motorcycle Riders
So who's up for a challenge?

IMHO that's a bit tougher task than any Iron Butt cruise, with some painkillers I could propably do IBA 1000 miles (I've done a couple of 700 mile days on a 1000RR), but 2000 km on track, I'd never be able to do that. In 2004 "Track Butt" they had 3 hours of huge rain, 8 hours of wet track and 1 guy still managed to do over 2000 km, 2011 km to be exact. And BTW, he was riding a turbo-R1, a real long-distance runner in wet conditions |

Actually, this isn't one of the superslab "butt's", it's as much twisties as one can take. They're limiting the number of major highway drone to the bare minimum.
It's a group starting from Lancaster, in a giant loop.
No 1st places, just try to hit the time constraint. It seems the organization is being run by some middle-agers with positive attitudes, so I doubt reckless riding will be condoned.
I can't imagine the IBA sanctioning something which promotes recklessness, they take "marathon" riding safety pretty seriously.
It will be interesting.

| Re: Inaugural SBA1000 - Eat your heart out Gumball Couldn't swing it this time, damnit, but WILL the next time... On the morning of July 8 2006, 28 brave motorcyclists set out to ride 1077 miles of California's most challenging and technical roads, in 24 hours or less. We took the SaddleSore format and pushed it to the limit. The 2006 SBA Sport 1000 was a thrilling success. Much fun was had, camaraderie was in full spirit, and many new friendships were established. We'd like to thank all of the riders for participating in our first event. We can't wait for next year and the 2007 SBA Sport 1000... but you won't have to wait that long for the next SBA event.... If anybody wants to get in on the next one, shoot me a line. The more the merrier.
