| New Arizona Bikenight Ok I know this is a bit late for tonights bike night but it does happen every other Sunday night @ 6pm. This is hosted by a local Arizona sportbike fourm. Copied info below from the site. azsportbikes.org if you need more information. Quote: i know this is a lot, but take the time to read it. Location: Hooters, downtown on 3rd street & Van Buren. Parking: On the sidewalk, as close to the bushes as you can get and dont block the bike racks. Time: 6:00 pm till whenever. (closes at 11:00pm) Bring you family and friends, family type environment!!
if you plan on going go ahead and post up & subscribe to this thread as we are still working out minor details with security and management as of this post. 3rd street is a one way south street at van buren and van buren is a 2 way street with a concrete median.
Yes, i know rules suck, but theyre pretty lenient rules if you conside they could make us park elsewhere and walk there which isnt my idea of a 'bike night'. it sounds like the manager on sunday nights is pretty cool with the idea, we only have to speak with the GM and get him to say yes (which i dont think, as paying customers, will be a problem.)
Secretary Gruberman is going to make the calls for us tomorrow since he has the day off mon & tues.
One last thing i want to point out to people that plan on going to his bike night. 3rd street and van buren is a weird intersection. one way south and divided way going east with no median going west. depending on your exit strategy, which we checked out tonight, making a left to go east on van buren shouldne be a problem, nor should going west in van buren or south on 3rd street. PLEASE keep in mind that we are (hopefully) going to be parking on a pedestrian walkway and exiting in a pedestrian crosswalk.
WATCH OUT FOR PEDESTRIANS and avoid them at all costs. DO NOT **** around with them like yer gonna even attempt to get close to them. i know for most people that are saying "WELL DUH" right now this seems pointless but its one of those simple things that is overlooked and can be easily forgotten. so far everyone seems pretty cool with this idea, i personally like the idea and dont mind a 20-30 minute ride to hang out with you guys. i just dont want that one person to **** it up for everyone.
again, im not saying it WILL happen, i just want to make it clear to everyone that if and when we get the final ok, that nobody meeses this up because its a good location, decent place (heh hooters girls.... cmon!!!^%*#%) and everyone including security seemed pretty cool about the whole situation.
so for thos of you who choose to participate and show up, thanks, your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to meeting you at the next AZSportbikes Bike Night.
-Matt
