| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Take the 15 north to the 210 west to the 5 north to the 14 north. Depending on the day and time, yes, traffic will probaly suck. |

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Why not take 10E (couple miles) to the 15N to 138W to the 14N, then the Edwards exit in Rosamond? Would think that would be better than the 210 and 5 as far as traffic....and it's shorter. |

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? You should have flown into Bakersfield. Edwards AFB is about 50 minutes away. I pass it all the time going home.

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Bakersfield....the time spent on the connection is not worth it. Ontario is fine. When are you getting in? Traffic shouldn't be too bad going out of Ontario if it's midday if you go the route I listed. Evening traffic out or morning traffic into Ontario is quite busy, but not as bad as traffic to LAX even though LAX is a couple miles closer (less than 10 miles difference). |

Thanks for the help. If there are any eating places you would recommend, please do so. |

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Ask Mojave about places to eat. Other than chain type places, I'm not too familiar with that. Try In & Out for a burger and fries sometime if you've never had them.
Just be careful if Mojave asks you to meet him alone, late at night...I've heard stories that would scare ya too much to tell.. YIKES! |

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Not too many places here in the big burg of Rosamond. The Mexican places are good and The Skillet on Sierra Hgwy, while it doesn't look like much, has awesome food and good bang for the buck. There is Chucks' Pizza. I haven't eaten there but heard it is good. Coach's Sport bar is suppose to have good grub as well. Plenty of chain places in Lancaster for whatever your pleasure and a couple of miles more takes you to Palmdale near the mall and there you can chow on whatever you want, OG, Outback, Dave's Ribs, Torinto's (Mexican), Panera Bread, Greek Places. Pick your poison.
Be warned though, from the main gate to Rosamond is about 16 miles or so. Lacaster is 15 from here and 20 from Palmdale. (all distances approximate)
Have fun and enjoy your time in the desert. It is BFC here right now and suppose to rain the next couple of days. And before you people start it may be bad street riding but awesome dirt riding. Yeah, IT IS like that. |

Things have changed here my little bald, round man. I am now a single parent. Can't just up and run around anymore but, always up for In and Out Burger. Can't imagine it would hard to convince the daughter we are going to IN and OUT. |

What day are your arriving? Might want to check the caltrans website first. |

There is one on Ave I in Lancaster. Just off the 14. You can see and smell the place from there. Also right there is the baseball field (B league), KTM dealer, Cinema 22.
Be sure to check out their secret menu on thier website. Cause when you go in, there are only 3 menu items, fries, burgers and sodas. But there is so much more. |

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? I always go 15 north to the 138, exit on Sheep Creek Rd, go through Phelan and then do a shitload of back country roads near El Mirage to end up at Edwards. It avoids Lancaster and Palmdale completely. It works out well when I am also visiting the AFRL lab before going to Edwards proper.
I was there right before they starting closing 15 at the Cajon pass. Even then it was only 15 South, so who knows what caltrans is up to. |

I went through there on Wednesday (22nd) and returned on Saturday (25th) and I had no delays or no trouble. I go to work on the 215N (near the 15 merge) and there are usually signs flshing telling you that they are closing the pass. No signs flashing....I think it's ok.

| Re: Anybody here live near Edwards AFB? Why do people in Cali and Az refer to everything as "the" when speaking of highways, when the rest of the country refers to it by number?
ie: "the I-5 south"
vs: "5 south"
Just somethin funny I noticed
