Just wondering how many people we have from the San Diego(So-Cal) area on here. Thought maybe we could do a little ride down here somewhere. Maybe hit up Palomar or some other twisties in the area. Or we could have some kind of fireblade.org get together down here. Any suggestions let me know. I know this forum section is pretty dead so I'm hoping I at least get a couple replies.

I'm in here. My CBR is at home in Elsinore. I only have my KLR down here in SD during the week (for local commuting) until it gets a little warmer.

Ever do Highland Rd? I'm about 5 min. from there.

I'm up for a ride just about anytime. Have only managed to stretch my Blade's tires once in the last three weeks, so starting to feel some withdrawal pain!

Highland Road? Don't know where that is. I work on Coronado.

Ahhh. It's a nice treat.

Take I-15 north to the Pomerado Rd. Exit (the exit JUST before you cross over Lake Hodges). Go right, then the very next intersection (it's got a stop light) take a left. That's Highland Rd.

Highland will tee (eventually - I don't know the mileage, I just ride the thing) at a stop sign. Go left, follow that road around, and when you hit a stoplight, you're at Hwy 67.

Go left to head to Julian (and if you haven't been on Old Julian Hwy., you need to ride that one, too); go right to head back down towards Poway..

I grew up in San Diego, and I'm always delighted to be so spoiled by the year-round riding weather we suffer from..

Highland that sounds so familiar. Is it the one that goes by lake wholford going to pala casino from Escondido?

Oh yeah my buddies dad lives off Highland DUHHH! That road is awesome, but I suggest peopl run up and down at the speed limit a couple times before they hit it hard. There is a couple nice switch backs up that way.

Nope -- that's to the north, and yet-another very excellent ride. Check out this link for the north I-15 to Highland VALLEY Rd (fergot the VALLEY part!).

Absolutely.. I didn't go "hot" one bit 'til I'd been up and down the thing a few times. Even then, I tend to make a nice leisurely pass one direction just to check out the road conditions (the fires were major there; rain puts a lot of debris on the road).

I ride the freeways too much.

Well at the moment I have a pretty bald rear tire, but hopefully this weekend I can get some fresh rubber. A Julian trip would be cool, I'd take my wife as a pillion as she loves going up there.

Ms. GT-R you would still enjoy the ride on the KLX up highland to Julian. The scenery is absolutely awesome, much different from the crowded city.

The little KLR stays down here in Point Loma for the work commute.
My CBR is in the garage in Elsinore, I would take that.

LOL sorry about that. Thought maybe you drove a nissan skyline GT-R or something. Yeah it would definitley be more fun on the Blade.

& knew what MSGT-R meant.. 'Specially with that other thread MSGT-R wrote (person asking about fuel pressure). That smacked of a Sr. NCO making the pull-the-arm/fist-away-from-other-fist gesture (a.k.a. get-your-head-out-your-a**)..

I try not to come on too strongly, but that particular thread just smacked of "user" for some reason. It's just not good manners to ask for something like that on a very first post without introducing yourself or at least saying that you have a problem and that you need help..

Besides, I've had my share of spoon-feeders on other forums, right down to asking for bulletized, detailed information on service procedures because he was too damn cheap to buy a book. ATV forums are the worst for that.
