| New to Santa Barbara County Just moved fm the Mojave. THose boys up there never ride so I moved to another area in hopes of finding people that actually ride their motorcycles.
Where are some nice roads to ride? I live in Buellton if that is any help for reference.
Thanks. Gonna be awhile getting used to this green stuff, not to mention the humidity... |

If you're inclined to head south just a bit, my favorite road, HWY 33 north of Ojai is a blast. And it connects to Cerro Noroeste, which is a real rip, too. (Or Lockwood Valley if you're into a bit more of a motoX course. )
Enjoy. And if you're ever adventurous enough to head even a little further south, we have a group that rides just about every Sunday. Just let me know... |

| Re: New to Santa Barbara County I will be sure to hook up with you guys.
Running into a lot of "snake" laden roads up this way. Haven't found anything decent that I would call a challenge. Have to check out the Ojai rd someday. Hmmm, this weekend is mostly free, maybe time for a road trip. |

The weather's been pretty cold the last few weekends (about 35 -40F at 8:00am, when I have to head out), so I haven't been out. (Flame away, all you REAL cold-weather guys I'll be the first to admit to being a huge wuss about the "cold" weather. 4th-generation SoCal boy makes for thin blood, I guess. ) Good news is, it seems to be warming-up a bit, so I'll probably brave it this weekend. |

| Re: New to Santa Barbara County Welcome to the central coast area. I live a few miles west of you over here at Vandenberg Air Force Base. I ride a 01 YB 929. Hear at the base we have a few guys that ride. Also Lompoc has a few riders. The Lompoc crew has a bike night on thursdays at the Starbucks in Lompoc. I sometimes go there but havnt been there in a while. The other guys from the base and I, ride to places like 33 and sometimes go up north to Highway 58. We also go down to the Rock store and ride the canyon roads in that area.
I also have some buddies with Mustangs here on the base, we take a Bakersfield trip or a trip to Fontanna to the drag strip every now and then.
If you would like to hook up with us on a ride let me know. You can email me at zhart@earthlink.net, I want to get at least two rides in before the end of Feb. I'm getting deployed to the middle east and will be leaving at the end of Feb. I should be back in the summer time. If you would like to go for a ride shoot me an email or respond on this site. I dont normally post alot but I do read what is posted on this site. Let me know if your interested on going for a ride. Shawn |
