Re: Totaled her. CBR954

Good to see you're on the mend. I guess you weren't wearing a crash helmet either? Lucky man.

Regarding choice of bike for the future, you can kill yourself on all of them. The problem is not the type of bike, the problem is inside your head - with respect. I've struggled with this a lot, the constant need to get a buzz from every single ride. I would suggest that you get another sports bike (anything else will feel like sh1t) , but take it to the track for a few sessions. Get some tuition. And somewhere like Willow springs rather than Laguna Seca (at least, at first). Blowing off steam at a track is a LOT safer than on the road. And that experience will stand you in good stead when you get into unexpected situations on the road. Can't help you if you ride naked though......

Re: Totaled her. CBR954

Thanks... I was wearing a helmet, as its the law here in CA. and it definitely saved my life or prevented serious head trauma, since it was cracked on the outside and inside. Even if it were not the law I would always wear a full face helmet. Only reason I didn't have proper gear on was because I was going to the gym about 2 miles from home, so I was like screw it. No road rash though.

I am still deciding on my next bike. Its most likely going to be a sport bike, but a cruiser will probably be a better choice so I dont give my mom a heart attack when she sees it. Honestly, I just want to get back on two wheels, now that the weather is nice here in Cali.
All I see is bikes and I shed a tear every time they pass me.
