Diagnose this wreck

Ok when I look at this the only way I can see this happening is either

A. The rider was not paying attention or maybe came around a bend at speed and had no chance to take evasive action.

B. The truck hit something unseen to both rider and truck.

A bike should outbrake a truck so to me it's unfortunate but it looks on the surface like rider error - does anyone else have a take on this?

Re: Diagnose this wreck

Perhaps a combination. He might've changed lanes at speed to avoid something, he might've been gawking at something on the footpath...

Either way it doesn't look as though he would've faired too well.

I think the truck leapt out from behind a tree and bit the bike. Just a theory....

in melbourne, here in australia, i have noticed trucks tend to give way to motorcyclists alot. They pretty much allways make sure they get out of your way.

Re: Diagnose this wreck

Speed differential - well up until the point where after the collision they are both doing the same speed.

A bike at 100km/h wount out brake a truck at 20!

Re: Diagnose this wreck

I say one of two things.
1. He was following a car too closely that whipped over to the next lane and he had a car beside him.
2. Stuntin like his daddy and came down from a wheelie to see a truck bumper.

I don't see skidmarks in the photo...

"Judging by the police tape, he died."

Looks like some blood on the right peg and back tire?

Re: Diagnose this wreck

Hard to say, any of those scenarios. I would say he died. Police tape, all the blood, police suv with homicide written on it which would indicate he prolly investigates deaths and the fact he had to be going pretty fast to crunch the bike under the truck that far.

One would have to plan that just right or else the bike would be on the ground. it also wouldn't explain how far the bike is under the truck and the amount of damage. That can only come from high a velocity impact.

Hmm, must have been going fast!

One way to die, adrenaline rush and then bang - but what happens if you survive?! Selfish thing to do though.

I think, the truck was playing hide and seek... and the bike found him faster than he expected... anyone know what happened to it?

Yeah, I saw the blood on the peg and the tire too.

Did anyone notice what appears to be blood splatter on the tank part of the truck (top right corner of the image).

He's toast.

I know I am late in replying, but judging by the decals, I believe that the rider was on an urgent delivery to the hospital with a donor organ or two...he seems to have made it.

May God not strike me down for that!
