Crashed

So I was just leaving the girlfriend's house to go hang out with some people and turning onto the main road I must have hit some gravel or oil or something because all of a sudden my rear tire broke traction and slid way over to the right I let off the throttle and my tire grabbed again sending me over the right side of the bike and it landed on its right side as well. Took me completely by surprise. I really didn't feel like I had given it much throttle at all because I was just turning from a standstill. So that sucks, but anyway theres a hole in my clutch cover now a little smaller than a dime. I already have a new clutch cover but should I be worried about water (condensation maybe?) or metal shrapnel that may have gotten in my engine. Anyone else wanna share their experiences?
