| I hate cows. CAUTION: SAD/HEARTBREAKING STORY FOLLOWS!
Ok, so here is my obligatory crash story. I recently purchased a sweet 96 900rr in mint condition for an unbelievable price. I was stoked about it. After 2 days of riding, my friend, who rode a Suzuki SV650 was pissed cause my bike was thoroughly faster than his v twin. So he decides to take the most logical action and trade his bike in for a 2008 GSXR1000 to even the playing field! Riding back from the bike shop we decide to hit some twisties to have a little fun. Unfortunately, cows have decided to do the same thing. Cows were randomly grazing along the side of the road which fortunately kicked up alot of rocks and gravel all over the road. Going into a tight turn, my front tire hit said rocks and washed out into the ditch. Luckily, a huge boulder was there to immediately stop the bike which sent my rocketing through the windscreen only to be stopped by my face on more rocks (thank god for full leathers and a full face helmet). As I lay on the ground, i see my bike do a full cartwheel in the air and land directly on me in the most violent and catachalysmic display of motorcycle acrobatics ever. It proceeded to land on top of me with the throttle stuck wide open. After throwing the bike off of me, my friend turned around to assess the damage with me. The bike was totaled. All fairings destroyed, front end mangled, radiator broken in half, and two sweet 4 inch gashes all the way through my engine block and valve cover. The clutch housing cover was split in half and fluids were coming out of every new orifice the bike had. I suffered multiple broken bones in my hand, road rash on the legs, a chipped hip bone and a severely broken ego/pride. I HAD THE BIKE FOR LESS THAN 4 DAYS!! I wanted to cry. Thank god I made the prior decision to not put insurance on the bike before that ride (intense sarcasm). Well, my friend got what he wanted, a faster bike than me. Now I am stuck with twisted metal that barely resembles a fireblade. The frame and wheels are still good. I'm thinking about building one up from the ground with a 929 motor and making a sick streetfighter! |
