| Shameful Loss of Life Luc Bourdon, an aspiring pro hockey player in the Vancouver Canucks organization, was killed in a motorcycle crash this week. While his notoriety makes this loss especially tough for hockey fans, the circumstances of the crash should make all riders take this tragedy to heart. The TV report said that he was riding a "super bike" ( there were no specifics on the make or model ). According to the report, he was attempting to pass a tractor-trailer on a curve when he collided head on with another tractor trailer. The pictures gave testimony to the horror of the wreck. But the real horror and shame, is the fact that the bike was 2 days old, and that he had been licensed for 2 weeks. Members of the forum can finish writing this piece themselves but answer this- what on earth is it going to take to stop this type of senseless accident. What is there to convince riders to think, for just one more second, before they take a "chance". What? |
