| Justice for John My husband was killed in a motorcycle accident. Or more appropriately, a wreck, for this was no accident on his part. It was a freak accident, at best. It happened on VA 211, which is a famed route for motorcyclist, for its awesome twists and turns. He was in the right hand lane (there were 2 lanes going up and 1 coming down), the person who killed him was coming down. He took corner WAY too fast (it was a blind corner), shot across 2 lanes of traffic, hit my husband head on, killing him instantly. The kicker, he was down here from Philedelphia driving on a bike that didn't belong to him on a SUSPENDED licensce. For whatever reason, the commonwealth of VA dropped the driving on a suspended license charge all together. His punishment: A fine and a reckless driving charge!!!! He ****ing killed my husband!!!! What the f??? I'm bitter and angry. Had they both been in cars, he would've been charged with vehicular homicide. So why did he get off easier????? The accident happened so fast John didn't even have a chance to break There were no skid marks at the scene. The son of a b that killed him showed no remorse. He was laying at the scene screaming "He got in my way!!!!" Now how the f is that possible when HE was the one that shot across 2 lanes of traffic????????? Then he blamed it on a phantom car getting in his way (he had to hit the brakes and swerve around him) and then he pulled the ****ing race card, of all things!!! Yeah, I'm just effen picking on you cuz you're not white, get real. I was never more furious in my life. And the ****ing poor excuse of prosecutor on the case was saying to me "well, gee, he was hurt bad and he's cooperating and we're lucky he is because we don't have the facility to house him" blah blah blah.... My response "well, he's still alive" prosecutor just went dead silent on me. I thought so, mothereffer. How can you even mothereffing say that to me??? HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DRIVING TO BEGIN WITH, HIS LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't effen make excuses for this incompentent ahole. John started out on dirt bikes when he was 5. He owned his first street bike at 18. He owned bikes until his death at 33. He was a skilled, experienced, carefull, conscientious rider. He had all the gear. The top of the line helmnt, etc. He did nothing wrong. His only crime: the ultimate case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He did not deserve to die. Nobody does. I can't even describe the aftermath. His brother, who was behind him, watched his younger brother and only sibling, helplessly bleed to death in his arms. He is a shell of his former self today. I had to go pick up his effed up motorcycle. I was handed his bloody helmet. It had been in a hot garage in August for several weeks from the accident, but it was still dripping with blood, crawling with magets and smelled like a dead animal. How would any of you react when faced with this? Do you think your life would ever be the same? I had to call his friends and tell them what happened. I had to plan his funeral and close out his life. I pray no one out there have to experience the pain and agony of this.
Anyway, so many motorcyclist get maimed/killed by irresponsible people and there are no reprocussions for this. S, if I hit you with a shopping cart at the local grocery, I'm sure I'd be brought up on assualt charges; So why arent negligent motorist?????? Why is there no justice for John? I want justice for him. I'm not sure where to start. But he needs justice. Funny thing is that if I thought the guy that murdered him was the least bit remorseful, I would'nt be doing this. But that arrogant son of b needs to pay for this. I'm so angry and bitter over this, I don't even know what to do. If he showed half an ounce of remorse; I could forgive him and move on. But I can't. Please help me in my quest to get justice for John. I don't know anyway else that I can get rid of this anger and hatred. Because, goddmmit, I've tried to hide my guilt, shame and short commings in the bottle, but it's not working, goddammit. |

| Re: Justice for John Very sorry for your loss. Sounds like a crappy deal from the prosecutor, think I would be contacting the media about what happened and see if they can do a story about it and put some pressure on the prosecutor, don't know what else to say but sorry for the loss of your husband. |

| Re: Justice for John Thank you. I appreciate that. Interestingly enough, an editor for Sports Rider magazine drove past the scene and wrote about the accident in the article; but he didn’t contact us about. The tone of the article was, I think, geared more towards reminding people to slow down and take it easy out there. What I really want to do is make others aware of this situation. That if you’re maimed or killed on a bike by someone else’s negligence, the chances of you or your family getting any justice out of the situation are slim to none. For the past couple years, I’ve kind of tried to bury it, not talk about it, move on, etc. But I’ve been hearing other horror stories from other people. So, I’m not political or anything, but, I’m pulling out the soap box. It’s too late for our family; but it isn’t too late for someone else’s. And if I can make that difference for someone else, his death won’t feel like such a horrible waste of human life. |

| Re: Justice for John I am so sorry for your loss. I wouldn't wish that situation upon my worst enemy. I would talk to an attorney about hitting this guy hard in civil court. I understand it isn't about money but at least the guy would be held a little more accountable. |

| Re: Justice for John This is so tragic. In this life or the next, he'll get whats coming to him. In the meantime, the media and civil court are great ideas. And I know about hitting the bottle (and any other drug). Ease the pain, even if for a moment, right? It is so temporary. Know that your husband wouldn't want you to suffer so much because of what happened to him. He'd want you to remember and honor him, and live your days in peace and happiness. You don't have to feel guilty being happy. He wouldn't want that. |

| Re: Justice for John Broker872, after just reading this I begin to wonder how lucky I am.
I am very sorry for your husbands death, again like you said it was a case of being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Do not let it get to the stage where you start blaming yourself or beating yourself up, it wouldn't have been what your husband would have wanted nor is it the easy way out. YOu have to face life and take what ever sh*t it throws out at you - just dont get caught up in it...
IF putting this son of a b behind bars (or making him pay in what ever form you want him to) will put your mind and your husbands soul at peace, then that is what you need to do.
Good luck and once again, my thoughts go out to you and your family.

| Re: Justice for John Broker, my sincerest condolences.
The justice that was handed out is not the slightest bit acceptable and I hope that there are appeal procedures that are available to you where you are.
The pain and anguish that you describe, come not just from the injustice that was done, but also from the beautiful relationship you had with John. A quality relationship is hard to find, and I hope the memories of your relationship lives on, eventhough he was taken from you so cruelly. |

| Re: Justice for John I am sorry for your loss.
I was wondering if charges could be brought up in PA for him driving in VA without a license???
Besides that what's the difference between a gun, knife, car, or motorcycle? That guy really got away with murder and I still would contest the outcome of the trail with a good attorney who wants to make a name for him/herself by taking the case for free. |

Raise hell until the prosecutor either has to move or take him down
then sue the SOB and make sure he can never afford to get on the road again. |

| Re: Justice for John Sorry for your loss!
I've always heard that if you going to kill someone use a motorvehicle to do it because the charges are less.
This jerk should be charged with murder with a weapon plain and simple. |
